IS the law of attraction real? The concept that we attract both good and bad things subconsciously.?

Both good and bad things…You and I are responsible for everything in our lives on a subconscious level..E.g.we don’t say “I am making my hair grow”..”I am going to produce tears for my eyes”,but yet you are responsible for the production of tears, hair growth and more because our subconscious mind is responsible for those processes…similarly does our subconscious attract everything to us,people, things, even accidents as told in the movie “The Secret”?

  1. Not in the way you seem to mean.
Tell me exactly how a six-month-old baby is responsible for being raped by her drunken father?
Tell me how all the people who died on September 11, 2001 equally attracted their horrible deaths, all on the same day?
The Secret did nothing more than prey on your superstitious fears and make the author rich. Congratulations.

  2. I have never seen the movie or read the book “The Secret” but I do have personal knowledge confirming that we do, infact, make things happen in our lives through our conscious as well as otherconscious thoughts. Humans are actually mutlidimensional beings known as “Essences” that could be considered mini gods, these are the “souls” many people talk about.

  3. I absolutely know this is real. But “the Secret” is only the beginning. What your mind does is whatever you focus on, put your energy into, you will attract. But it is not the type of attract that you would think. It is actually that you become more “aware” of what you are focused on. So your mind will point out as many things, or circumstances as possible to guide you to your need. A book will jump out at you with the answer, or you will overhear a conversation etc. Have you ever noticed that maybe you or a family member just got a new car. You had never noticed that many of that type of car on the road before? And it almost seems as if hundreds of ppl went out and got the same car as you at the same time? You are “aware” so therefore you see it everywhere. That is just one example of thousands. But the point is, if you ask yourself a question, your mind will immediately go into action to find any resources available to find the answer. And that goes for both positive, and negative.

  4. Your watching too many movies. Growing hair and tears when you cry are reactions of your body and for your question, all things occur in a random pattern.

  5. Yes, but not in the way that you, or some of the other answerer’s, are thinking. It has more to do with the things and people that you attract into your life. And it works on both the conscious and unconscious level. If you’re constantly thinking negative things, then it will bring more negative things into your life for you to think about. Likewise, if you’re thinking about positive things, it will bring more positive things into your life. It does not cause specific things to happen exactly as you wanted them. For example: Because of my work, I travel a lot so, I have two houses. My wife and kids take care of one, but there is no one to take care of of the other one. I started thinking about how nice it is that I don’t have to worry about the other house. A short time later (three months) I received a phone call from a friend of mine teaching at a major University. He had a Graduate student who was doing field work pretty near where my work was going on, and wondered if I could possibly “hook him up” with a place to stay. Needless to say, 10 grad students later, I’ve not had to worry about my other house being looked after when I’m not there. That’s how the law of attraction works. What you think about is what you will attract to you.
