Is Taoism the yin and Confucianism the yang of Chinese religions? Explain your answer.?

  1. No. Taoism is the attempt to grasp the universe with the understanding that it can’t be understood. Confucianism is a religion based on the moral teachings of Confucius.Taoism rocks.

  2. It would be hard to say it that way. Confucianism is a rationalist philosophy based on proper manners and social obligations with a touch of ancestor worship. Taoism is a philosophy about spiritual forces and seeking harmonic balance in life’s polar opposites.
The concept of Yin and Yang (the opposing forces of feminine and masculine nature) applies to Taoism in particular. However, since Taoism, Confucianism, and Chinese Buddhism tend to be rolled up under the same blanket of traditional folk religions of China, people have a problem separating out their individual tenants at times.
What you are proposing makes as much sense as saying “Is Catholicism the Yin to Scientology’s Yang?” So in the big picture the answer would be no since you are mixing and matching religious precepts in your question.
    I hope this helps.
