Is religion a factor in susceptibility to hypnosis?

Are religious people more susceptible to hypnosis?
Are people of some faiths more susceptible than others?
Thanks in advance.

  1. I don’t know. But people with schizophrenia or left-hemisphere brain damage are more likely to be religious.
I’m an atheist with very low susceptibility to hypnosis. So I don’t know if that means anything.

  2. Perhaps. I have been able to get hypnotised, but I always assumed that maybe I have ADHD. I never took my ideologies into consideration.

  3. Yeah, If you can get people to believe in a “virgin” birth, and a man walkin’ on water, and Resurrection from the dead, of course you can get them to believe they are being hypnotized; that’s easy.

  4. Hello
No. Hypnotherapy itself is totally non denominational.
Hypnosis is a natural human, mind state. Everyone enters into this state several times a day. So we are all hypnotisable.
