I have had memories from past lives. Any direct reference to reincarnation was removed from the bible because then people would know they could get to heaven without the church’s involvement. There are subtle reference that have been listed by others here, so I won’t repeat them. For those of you who don’t understand…we are not reincarnated in to the same body as the same person…I cannot believe that there are people who don’t get that. I was not Cathy M in any previous life and I will not be Cathy M in my next life…I had/will have other lessons… Read more »

Reincarnation is not a bible teaching, however the resurrection is. Consider the scriptural basis for this beginning with Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10 God’s Word states: “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages.” Since the dead “are conscious of nothing at all,” they cannot hear, see, speak, feel, or think. They no longer earn any wages. How could they? They are incapable of any work! Moreover, “their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished,” for they cannot express any emotion. When… Read more »

The Reincarnation is The Resurrection and The Life before The Judgment Mercy Seat of Messiah who was Reincarnated into His Temple and Ascended into Heaven. Christians may not accept reincarnation, but Jesus in at least three verses mentioned John the Baptist was the profit Elijah (Matthew 11:2-15, Matthew 17:10-13 and Mark 9:9-13). Origen, the most famous Church Father of all believed in reincarnation. It wasn’t until 553 that the fifth ecumenical council formally banned the doctrine of reincarnation.

Reincarnation was once widely accepted and taught during the early Christian Church until it was omitted and excluded from the official and uniform Christian doctrines at the Council of Nicea (A.D. 325) for political reasons.

According to Buddha, reincarnation is truth. Once one frees one’s spirit from the cycle of suffering (cycle of reincarnation) by achieving enlightenment, one enters the eternal spiritual state of serenity known as ‘Zen.’

The Bible says similar; if one is Jesus-like (enlightened), his/her spirit exists eternally in a state known as ‘Heaven.’

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
John 5:28-29

The Bible teaches over and over that you and I will go to Heaven or Hell after our only life on earth, without any reincarnation, “as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment” (Heb.9:27)…

Reincarnation is a contradiction to the Bible, because it offers no loving God, no forgiving grace, and robs the Almighty of his attribute of mercy. The sacrifice of Christ on the Cross and the shedding of his blood cannot be compatible with a system of belief that denies his atonement.

The only kind of reincarnation mentioned in the Bible is the afterlife. Other than Jesus and Lazarus I don’t think anyone came back from the dead in human form on Earth.

Of course, the Bible doesn’t have the final authority on all things spiritual so you never know.

My only logical argument against reincarnation is the fact that the population changes. In the 1930’s the earths population was half what it is now. Are new souls being created? What happens to them if the earths population reduces? do souls separate or combine to keep up with shifting demographics?

If I was looking for evidence of reincarnation, or anything for that matter, then the bible is the last place I would be looking.
