  1. Always direct this sort of question to your instructor first. But, if you are practicing solo right now maybe consider some of the thoughts I have posted below. Of course it is always a good idea to confer with your doctor. That being considered:
It depends on how bad your infection is. If you can safely stand balanced, then I don’t see any harm. Tai Chi exercises do not offer resistance. You don’t want to do any exercise that offers resistance, like weight training, with any sort of infection. The infection can move into the muscles and this can cause moderate pain.
Also consider that your body needs all of your energy to create antibodies right now. In the Tai Chi I have practiced, you would be aiding your healing. But, there is a fighting form of Tai Chi and I wouldn’t practice that with an infection. Either Tai Chi or Qi Gong exercises can help the immune system while helping you sweat out and dispel some of the impurities. Drink plenty of liquids. Get lots of rest.

  2. Um, sinusitis isn’t contageous, nor is it detrimental to your health. In fact, practicing your art may help you get over your ailment. Take some pseudoephedrine and have some fun. Hope you get to feeling better.
