Is continually making claims about your awesome spiritual gifts/experiences proof of insecurity/immaturity?

It’s like, deep down you know it’s crap and if you don’t publicly re-affirm it over and over and over, you will realize it’s utter crap! You fear reality because it will quash your ego/self esteem to such a severe degree that you are willing to do rational, world-class gymnastics to keep the delusion alive!
Sam: God = nil
Hyacinth: I’m green with vomit.
Babygirl: Ain’t nothing to fear here darlin 😀
Tonks: You sound like you think anger is a bad thing. Try not repressing yours, do you a world of good.
Markers: [Scriptures = Brain] for you?
Tonks: Anyone ever tell you to mind your own business? Your assumptions offend me.

  1. what a rude rant. i haven’t seen anyone do that here; i certainly don’t.
is posting rhetorical angry questions proof of insecurity/anger at the God you KNOW exists???

  2. Not really. I mean, non-religious people talk about their gifts and experiences all the time.
I don’t see how claiming your life is the way it was because you had no help is any better than people who say their Heavenly Father gave them opportunities.
It keeps the pride to a minimum.

  3. God says that spiritual things are foolishness to the natural man in the flesh.
You are just so jealous. Your green side is so obvious. lol
You cannot handle it. Bet you can’t sleep at night because God gave us gifts and you want them too and you are j-e-a-l-o-u-s. Admit it.
You doth complain too much. It is written all over your typing fingers. lol

  4. Definitely.
Sam C: Why so hostile? More importantly, thanks for proving this asker’s point about immaturity. Ye of little faith. And Hyacinth–your sandbox response is further comfirmation of the immaturity. Thanks for proving the point.

  5. Have you ever watched people speaking in tongues? It’s so funny! And they think they’re so special because they can make up fake words and sounds just like babies. I guess that makes sense because the Bible wants believers to think and behave like children.
Speaking in tongues used to involve people speaking real languages that were not known to them personally in the presence of someone who would be able to interpret what they were actually saying. As if that weren’t crazy enough, what we see today is just insane. Nobody knows what these people are saying and nobody is able to interpret any of it.
I think the study from the Youtube video listed in my sources is laughable. At least have some sort of control group. Have nonbelievers speak normally and then try to make up a language and see if the results are similar to the results of the believers speaking in tongues. If you gave a nonreligious person off the street some drugs or alcohol and had them try to speak in tongues, I wouldn’t be surprised if the results were identical to the believers in the study. I think the trick is being able to let go and be uninhibited. It’s not supernatural, but that’s how many people throughout history and today explain pretty much anything they don’t understand.
Don’t get me started on “holy laughter” or being “slain in the spirit.” There are some great videos of them also on Youtube.

  6. hell ya
It’s like, deep down you know it’s crap and if you don’t publicly re-affirm it over and over and over<<<----- BINGO

  7. I have spiritual gifts, and If I feel the need to share my experiences and my blessings with others, then I will and theres not a damn thing anyone can do about it.
I have no use for those that come on here and run their mouth about
something they have never experienced and knows nothing about.
Spiritual gifts are gifts from GOD, which I am almost sure you know nothing about.
I fear nothing sweety, and I SURE DON’T FEAR THE DEVILS LITTLE HELPERS.

  8. Who is “continually” making such claims?
I’ve never heard anyone do such a thing.
But to answer your question — if the claims are true, then no, it’s not proof of insecurity or immaturity.
But I doubt this would ever happen — because in Christianity’s history, people who have been blessed with an abundance of spiritual gifts tend to be very humble about them.

  9. Oh, my… you sound angry. I wonder why? Perhaps you need to explore the root of your anger first.
I didn’t tell you to repress your anger. I said to EXPLORE it. Why are you angry. At who? It will help you to know yourself and to let go.

  10. Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
Mat 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
Mat 23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Mat 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
Mat 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
