Is Alcoholics Anonymous a spiritual experience?

After I waved my way through all the cigarette smoke and into the meeting room, and took a seat. Everyone started saying their name and that said, “and I am an alcoholic”. I labeled myself an alcoholic as well. Suddenly, in the coroner of the room, I seen the “burning bush” that is mentioned amongst AAers. Is that a spiritual awakening? Or is it just the thorazine I forgot to take? Can god and Jesus really save me now! Oh Jesus, please save me! Save me now and take me HOME!

  1. I’d rather be a skid row drunk then go to AA meetings. But thats me, a person would have to be a complete idiot not to say it hasnt done a lot for a lot of people, like save their lives and change their lives. I just hate hearing peoples stories unless Im in the mood.

  3. It’s a required program for dui and other alcohol related incidents if one is found ‘guilty’ and is actually a BS program, since the people that run it work for free, and are not trained, except for being drunks themselves at one time or another in their life.

  5. we all become alcoholics for what ever reason but to truly be free from Alcoholism we need to truly look at our self’s and ask our self’s why we became an alcoholic?and bye looking deep within our self and by being true to thy own self and then from there we can start to truly recover so yes it is i think

Hardly, it was certainly an experience though. It was about religious DOGMA, not spirituality.
