Information on auras and chakras?

What exactly are these and what can I do to be able to see mine?

  1. An aura is supposed to be a colored edge or outline around your body that represents your life energy or some other spiritual quality. A chakra is a concept from Eastern mysticism (Hindu primarily). A chakra is believed to be a force or energy center within the body that has some affect on the health of the body and mind.
Objectively speaking, there is no reason to think that either auras or chakras exist. Auras are New Age mysticism while chakras are from much older mysticism. Scientifically speaking, there is no credible evidence for either and they fall within the realm of religion/faith belief.
Believers don’t usually say that chakras can be visualized, but some say that they produce the aura. Believers in auras usually prescribe some method of staring in order to see someone’s aura. It is no coincidence that this procedure also is used to see retinal fatigue based optical illusions, which can produce the illusion of false colors. This, along with power of suggestion, is most likely what people who say they see auras are really experiencing.

  2. The chakras, or wheels of light/energy are the energy centers in the body. Most people only focus on the major chakras, which basically follow your spine from the tailbone (the base chakra) to the crown of your head (the crown chakra.) But there are many more chakras in the human body. For example, the palms and the soles of the feet also have energy vortexes. The aura is like the imprint of your body’s overall energy and the soul’s energy or light output. I don’t quite know any other way to describe it. It is fairly easy to see your own aura, but not so with your chakras. Seeing an aura takes practice. You can do this by gazing into a mirror and staring with unfocused eyes just past your shoulder or head, rather than staring directly at yourself or any part of your body. Make sure you are against a neutral background and in low lighting.

  3. Chakras are whirling energy centers in the body that play a big part in our mental and physical health. I have not met anyone who can see a chakra.
For many people, the Aura is only the radiance of human beings. For scientists, it is a concrete, existing energy field that surround living creatures. The Aura is formed by subtle color radiances which surround the body of a human being. These radiances can be perceived by a psychic. Each color signifies a certain vibration which has different meanings.
Try seeing an Aura by squinting your eyes while looking at a person. If you have a friend that can help you, have that person stand against a blank wall or curtain while you are learning.
I am only able to see Aura’s with my eyes closed which I am told is common.
A strong desire and some practice should do it.

  4. Still the best book that I know of for auras is the 150 year old book called “The Principles of Color and Light” by Edwin Babbitt.
You can still get copies that left out the original first 5 chapters, but the original is extremely difficult to find. The library of congress has one copy. But, it is protected and not able to be loaned out.
The neat thing about this book is that there are documents of the US Army work utilizing color to heal. One of the other nice things about the book was the chapters on how to read auras.
One of the hints was to have someone stand in a semi dark room in front of a window shade….then, stand back a few paces and practice viewing the aura. There is more, do look for the book.

chakras are a whole different ball game. They were developed from far Eastern philosophy. Some people would like to tell you that human auras emerge from the chakras. However, there is much research that tells a different story.

  5. Chakras are stepdown transformers of higher awareness.
Aura is emanation of light via etheric energization of emotions; thought-forms and symbols sometimes seen in auric fields are emanations of mental/thought.
The aura in general is a protective field for the individual, guarding and protecting her privacy.
“Studies of the Human Aura,” Kuthumi, is perhaps the best modern book on the topic.
There are etheric layers of vision, and soul awareness usually directs what level is employed.
“Ethical ESP,” Ann Ree Colton, and
“Man’s Psychic Life: Elements and Forcefields,” O. M. Aivanhov, are also worthwhile.

Biophotonics is a mainstream biophysics field, and related to the more physical level of energy:

It’s now been proven the human body does “glow” with light (biophotons are now scientific fact), but it’s not in the visible spectrum. So people do have “auras” but it’s not possible for the human eye to see it using normal sight. Some people still claim they can see them but science hasn’t really explored that.
