If you believe in God, is it wrong to believe in luck, astrology, and tarot cards?

I’m confused, because many Christians either incorporate these things, or believe it has some significance in their lives.

  1. It depends on what you believe about god. Im a pagan, and i think tarot is just cards, luck happens because of good karma, and astrology is mostly pagan. christians like the idea of taking ideologies from Pagans, it makes them feel better about their beliefs.

  2. When it comes to luck, I suppose it depends upon your theology. The more complete you imagine God’s control over the universe to be, the less room there is for something like luck.
I think the God of the Bible would get seriously upset if you tried to use something like astrology or tarot cards to determine the future.

  3. Astrology and tarot cards are occult creations. Luck is not an occult creation. It is merely a shortened way of saying that life has worked in our favor.

  4. I do not believe in Luck- I think everything happens for GOD’S reasons only.
Tarot cards and astrology are evil.
    2 Corinthians 11:13-15
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
    Deuteronomy 18:9-14
“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, …
    Deuteronomy 4:19
And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.
    Genesis 1:14
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years,
    Isaiah 47:12-15
Stand fast in your enchantments and your many sorceries, with which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you may be able to succeed; perhaps you may inspire terror. You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you. Behold, they are like stubble; the fire consumes them; they cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. No coal for warming oneself is this, no fire to sit before! Such to you are those with whom you have labored, who have done business with you from your youth; they wander about, each in his own direction; there is no one to save you.

  5. It’s hypocritical to say you believe in God (depends which God your referring to..I assume you mean Yahveh of the Hebrew bible), and believe in luck, astrology, and tarot cards, which are all witchcraft.
Tarot cards and astrology are purely satanic, there is no doubt or argument there, so anyone who claims to be a christian and gets involved in those acts of witchcraft is probably a SUNday type christian who is NOT a Believer or FOLLOWER of the Holy One of Israel in the first place.
As they say “talk is cheap”. Those who are part of the SUNday type pagan palaces are NOT His people to begin with no matter how well intentioned they may be. “It’s action that counts, not just the thought”!!!!!

  6. “You must not look for omens, and you must not practice magic.” (Leviticus 19:26)
There are also other examples in the bible where practice of Astrology and mediums was condemned, showing the source of such practices were promoted by Satan and ungodly men.

  7. Believing in a god makes as much sense as believing in luck, astrology and tarot cards. Why limit yourself to just one delusion?

  8. Horoscopes, astrology are fake, they are design to be generic and fit everyone. People who read this apply it to their situation so they can be satisfied, it’s called Self Fullfiling Prophecy. Islam forbids even looking at this stuff. Ask yourself, everyone should have won the lottery by now with the numbers that are in the “fortune cookies”.

  9. All things have perversions in them (brought about by culture, peers and personal theories.) It’s just like saying, “I believe in a good God” and I also believe that “God allowed evil.”

  10. Astrology, tarot cards and other similar things should not be taken too seriously, not because you
believe in God, but because it is a foolish past time and in many cases you lose money. Astrology,
for instance, has been proven over and over again that it has no scientific bases. I’m sure that who
ever is interested in these things won’t go to Hell, but he certainly won’t improve his life in anyway.

  11. It depends on how you view religion.
Astrology and tarot cards are not without basis. They are tools for self understanding and also for the betterment of mankind. It is often the people who misuse the tools, are highlighted and put forth as demons by others who decry their use.
There is no absolute right or wrong in this world. Black and white normally exists as shades of grey.
It is for the adult mind to deciper what is true or false. It is only our mind and our judgement which is called to play.
Albert Einstein “All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree.”

  12. I don’t know what do Christians think, but in Islam it’s forbidden to believe in astrology, and tarot cards. Even if they were right. For only God knows the future. And it totally makes sense to me.

  13. * (bonus) also, (and I’m sure several people would disagree with me) Christmas is also based upon pagan religion, I don’t have time right now, so I can’t explain in-depth, but the 3 wise men were not necesarily 3 men (where does it say that in the bible?) and they were astrologers/magicians (research what the word in the original bible was), astrology and magic was already covered, they were following this star, the star DOESN’T lead them to Jesus, it leads them to some king who’s name I forgot who wants Jesus dead, (first) be4 actually taking them to Jesus’s birth area (or whatever it was, I forgot most of the details) so do u think the astrologers were Jesus’s admirers or something eviler? Satan is capable of such manifestations, (the star), so who created the star? Jesus or Satan? And what lies on top of most christmas trees? An ornament called “The star of Bethlehem”, I think thats ’nuff said, wondering if God and Jesus are still real and what-not? Yes. And I hate to turn this into an advertisement, but theres Jehovah’s witnesses, Apparently famous for door-to-door witnessing, how would I know all of this? I am one, I found an Awake! magazine on my counter and started reading, So that’s why Jehovah’s witnesses don’t celebrate christmas. (in case you were wondering) It makes me laugh to think that I’m telling people this when I’m the 13 year old and all of you readers are (presumably) adults.
