If Faith Is Subjective How Can One Be Punished For Having The "Wrong" One?

Many who have sincerely looked, read the bible, explored Christianity did not find God or all the answers to their questions there, but found it elsewhere.
Why is that a punishable offence to God as some claim?
Since belief is based on faith and faith depends on many subjective things, is it really a persons fault if they read the bible, went to a church and felt NOTHING and did not get adequate answers to their questions about life but attended a Hindu puja and felt a spiritual awakening and found a lit spiritual path that provided answers to their profound life questions and felt touched by God?
I mean, if the Christian doctrine is right and its Christianity or hell, seems pretty dismal for the vast majority of the human population.
Why is that a measure of whether someone is evil or not?

  1. Faith is not subjective. There is one Truth. Anything else people believe is false. They can choose to believe it, but it won’t get them anywhere.

  2. We believe it because we believe what is said in those same scriptures.
One who reads them and does not believe will still be judged by them later. They will not have the excuse “No one ever told me”
Jesus covers this in one of his parables known as Lazarus and the Rich man. They both die and Lazarus goes to Heaven and the rich man goes to hell. The rich man makes a plea on behalf of his 5 brothers still alive on earth: (Pay close attention to the last verse listed here)
27″He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29″Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30″ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31″He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
EDIT: TSK TSK Alonzo – she wanted to know why we believe what we do. Our faith is not subjective it is based on the hearing the Word. I substantiated my beliefs with reason and an example lesson upon which we base the belief in question taught by Christ himself.
Would a better answer have been “Because I said so?”

  3. Geez. Liberal, Heatre, Rusheven, you guys are the people she’s talking about.
Don’t mind them OP, they’re EXTREMELY ignorant.
And no, since all faiths are wrong, no one is going anywhere to be judged by anyone. All religion is false.
EDIT: Tsk-Tsk Rusheven, no using the Bible to prove the Bible!

  4. Because the christian god is an insecure whiny baby who values sycophantism above all else. I don’t understand how people can worship such a monster.

  5. i personally believe if there is a god, god isn’t going to care what faith you are. If you live your life like a good human do you think god is going to say “Well you where a good man in life, unfortunately you didn’t worship me in the right way so you go to hell” That is the most ridiculous theory i have ever heard. The narrow minded view that we must believe a certain religion to be in favour with god, based on the words written by mankind our self, isn’t helping anything. You can’t deny a good man being a good man because of his faith, if god created us all like everyone believes then why will he care how we worship as long as we are good people?
