Only the pagan astrologers “saw” the star that stop above where the young child was, thereby identifying the one house in the village of Bethlehem where the child was found. Their condemn practice of astrology and the adverse results of their visit, placing in danger the life of the future Messiah, certainly allow for, and even make advisable, the consideration of their having been directed by a source adverse to God’s purposes as relating to the promised Messiah. This is a rather easy one to explain: the “wise men” came from Modern-day Iraq, where the prophet Daniel had lived most of his life while the Jewish people were in the Babylonian captivity. The Scriptures document that Daniel taught the Babylonians about the Hebrew Bible and its prophesies. Therefore, they knew what signs would signal the Messiah’s birth and they knew where He would be born — they just didn’t know WHEN. I disagree with Christians that totally discredit astrology. I find that horoscopes and signs are sometimes oddly accurate. I think it’s wonderfully amazing how God manages the universe to work in such a way. Should we concentrate on it, follow it, OBEY it? No…only God. But it is wonderful, and further validates God’s existence and my faith in Him. (No, my brethren, Satan holds no power over the sun, moon, stars, and planets.)

It is assumed that the three wise men were Zoroastrians. The bible doesn’t say that. And, those three wise men may have easily understood what these things meant in Zoroastrianism, even if they were not.
