How would you classify Aleister Crowley?

What do you think: witch, Satanist, Christian mystic — Sufi perhaps?
I think he was a foul, but fascinating, individual.

  1. An egomaniacal delusional drug-addicted lunatic. And a terrible poet. But yes, I agree he was a fascinating human.

  2. not necessarily a satanist, he lacks the social darwinism, he seamed to be a very strong persuasive person, but he was probably just a simple occultist searching for the ultimate truth, and instead allowed alot of demons to wreck his life, he thought he could play with fire and not get burned, so, occultist

  3. From what I know your evaluation seems about right. I’m not that well read on him but I know Ozzy Osbourne did a great song about him!

  4. He was an incredibly brilliant talented educated man, a revolutionary well ahead of his time. He was labelled “the most wicked man that ever lived” by narrow-minded fools who did not have mental capacity to understand what he was trying to achieve.

  5. Aleister Crowley, born Edward Alexander Crowley, (12 October 1875 — 1 December 1947), was an English occultist, writer, mountaineer, poet, spy and yogi. He was an influential member of several occult organizations, including the Golden Dawn, the A∴A∴, and Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), and is best known today for his occult writings, especially The Book of the Law, the central sacred text of Thelema. He gained much notoriety during his lifetime, and was dubbed “The Wickedest Man In the World.”
Crowley was also a chess player, painter, astrologer, hedonist, bisexual, drug experimenter, and social critic.
