How to find the right tarot card?

A friend of mine is looking to purchase a set of tarot cards. She’s not sure which set to buy and I have not the slightest clue! I’ve been with her to look over them and there are so many! Any suggestions?

  1. One of the best to start with is the Rider-Waite deck. It is an excellent for a beginner. Also I would recomend that you go to the library and check out books on the Tarot. (Call Number in the 133’s)

  2. If you are picking a deck in person, trust your inner feelings. You can run your hand (usually right), slowly, palm open over the decks (not touching, just hovering above them) you feel intuned to, and you should feel a warmth or a tingling in your palm when you reach the one that is mostly on the same wave length as you are energy wise.
Not a big believer in tarot decks myself, but g’luck
If you are choosing online –
After you find one you might check here for info on spreads, meaning, etc.

  3. It’s really a personal choice…I know with all the decks out there, it can be hard, but, really it’s an easy decision…
First, look them over, and see what appeals, then read up on them a bit, and feel if it’s good for ya…
Tarot cards have changed a lot over the years, but the best way to think of them is as a symbolic system, so, what you are searching for is a symbol system that appeals, and feels right…a musician plays an instrument, but not all of them, they find that one that feels like the right tool for the job of making music, it’s the same for the Tarot, look for a toolbox that feels right…

  4. The right deck for her is the deck that speaks to her, the one she is most attracted to.The Rider Waite is a good starter deck.
