How quick does it take to lose consciousness during a heart attack?

  1. Actually it depends on the blockage and the loss of oxygen to the heart itself. Some people have heart attacks and do not lose conscousness. When someone has a heart attack it usually means they have a blockage in one of the arteries in the heart. Without blood flow to these arteries, part of the heart begins to lack oxygen and begins to die. This causes the chest pain a person will feel when having a heart attack. If it is a main artery that is blocked the heart will stop because of the lack of oxygen and a person will lose consciousness this way. But, if it’s not a main artery, the person will more than likely just have the crushing chest pain and not lose conscousness.
    In other words, it depends on how severe the heart attack is.
