Defined as “taken to be the life-process or “flow” of energy that sustains living beings ”
In that a living organism consists of a set of chemical processes. And from Intro to Chemistry, we know that chemical reactions changes that involve the motion of electrons in the forming and breaking of chemical bonds….energy exchanges and flow….
It’s quite an ancient concept that does not require a God or Supernatural Being to sustain.
Anyone?
NO. NO NO
I believe in the second law of thermodynamics
You Must Play the Game
You cannot Win.
You cannot break even.
Sorry.
It’s an intriguing idea, especially to a Star Wars fan like me, but I haven’t taken the time to research it well enough to say one way or the other.
This is something from the devil!
Sure. There are nursing theories built around energy flow.
Everything is made of atoms. Some of those atoms coalesce into animated groups. Pretty cool.
I believe in the law of physics that dictates that energy is neither created nor destroyed, but the idea of having any direct control over one’s personal energy aside from consumption and expulsion dabbles in a metaphysical realm that I can’t see as plausible.
No idea how many atheists believe in that. It has zero credible evidence to support it.
I don’t really believe in Chi, however, I believe one can hit points on the body to cause damage or pain.
I’m Buddhist/Taoist. I think theres something to chi and chakras.
I am an atheist and I happen to have trained in the martial arts where the use of chi is quite common. I do not believe that chi exists. The use of chi is synonomous with focus of energy. I can focus my mental and physical energies to great effect against an opponent. Nothing supernatural about that.
I use the same discipline to focus on exams to great effect. The downside is that I am incredibly tired afterwards.
Yes I believe in chi and I also believe that God is the source of the chi.
certainly life involves a flow of energy. but it rarely works the way traditional eastern medicine / philosophy claimed it does, so I’m not sure how useful those ideas really are.
I don’t believe in God
I don’t believe in Chi
You might think it odd
But I just believe in me……
And the rest of the physical universe
I do.
Mr.CC is right, in the martial arts of the orient it is used to focus energy.
Ki in Japanese is the word that describes energy, ie denki = electricity, it describes the flow of energy.
