When water moves it has potential energy.
When water moves it has kinetic energy.
The potential energy of water becomes kinetic when it is in a pond.

  2. since work done depends on the force apllied by the object and the distance covered in responce to that force….
    WORK DONE=FORCE *DISTANCE
    so in that case water does some perform work while moving on the earth’s surface

  3. WHEN WATER MOVES IT HAS KINETIC ENERGY.
    Water which falls as rain on high ground can then flow down hill under the influence of gravity. Water therefore has stored energy which is released to do work when it flows.
    Water trapped in a pond has potential energy as it cannot flow anywhere until it is released to flow downhill.
