How do you let go of negative energy?

I want to start fresh in life but I am stuck in a rut and drowning in my own negativity and others’ too. I started making a step by step plan that I’m trying to implement by the summer to get myself back on track. But what else could I do?
P.S. Been having many days where I can’t figure out why I exist or what I’m really working toward.

  1. Start a journal. Read everything you can on topics you are interested in. Get the DVD The Secret.
    Write out all the bad stuff on paper and then burn it.
    Get the book: Feeling Good: New Mood Therapy, by David Burns, MD (it tells you how to talk back to negative feelings and thoughts)
    Make a list of positive affirmations and say them to yourself daily, out loud in the mirror.

  2. The meaning of life is confusing to most people. Some people find it through religion, some find it through the acceptance that there is no real point, and just to live happily ever day. It’s a great sign that you are at least stepping forward to a positive thing, keep going with that.

  3. Stop thinking negative all together. Focus on more of the positive aspects. And if you say there is none, that’s bs (not to sound mean). From what I understand you have your Master’s in Education. That’s a positive thing. Not many people get that far, but you did and that’s good.
    A list is a good start, and stick with it. The hostile environment that you are working in, just do the best you can, and try your best to brush off the negative energy.
    Take a vacation like a cruise or something in the summer. Trust me, on a cruise, you don’t think about nothing back home. Your mind is at ease whiles traveling on sea.
    Think about working on being successful in your life.
    Try reading a book on self help, or taking a walk in a park. That helps too. Just think about what you really want to accomplish in life, and focus on that.

  4. I just put a very similar question on also. I experience severe depression, anxiety, extreme fatigue(CFS) and Fibromalgia pain. There are just times when i do not know how to deal with it.
    But hearing your pain makes me feel guilty for feeling sorry for myself. I have a family that loves me and no financial woes. I just need to get out of my bed and make myself go. It is just so easy to give in to depression. I think we fight it until we get so tired we just want to give up.
    But, I will make a deal with you, I will try and do better and hope you will to. Maybe we can email each other and discuss some ways to overcome these overwhelming problems of depression. Email me at ms_sunshine1998@yahoo.com or on IM.
    God has a purpose for us and we need to find out what it is and work on accomplishing it. He does not want us to waste our life away. I know that is what I have been doing.
    It seems there is so much pressure and stress in the world that more and more of us are finding it difficult to function normally. God loves you and so do I. I truly care and many others do too. Just hang in there and keep on fighting. We can and will beat this devastating illness….lol 🙂

  5. The “Secret” is the power of attraction! What you think, positive or negative brings on positive or negative. There is a book that is called The Secret, you should get it, it’s the best book I’ve ever read. It has made me see things in a much different way and how what I think attracts what happens in my life. If you think it won’t happen or you won’t get it then it won’t, but if you think you can then you will. I was out of work for nearly 8 months due to a job layoff and I was really down in the dumps about it, because I was having a hard time finding a new job. I bought the book and started to re-think how I thought about things, then within a month I had a job, and a great job at that.
    I hope you are able to get out of the book what I got out of it!
