God = religion, energy = occult. No imaginary being needed.
Occult – matters regarded as involving the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers or some secret knowledge of them
Meanwhile heres where christianity fits
CULT- 1 : formal religious veneration : worship
2 : a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents

Of course you don’t have to believe in God to be into the occult. To believe that someone has to is probably due to misinformation.
Err, but God =/= Religion. There are some atheists who practice a religion you know. There are also atheists who are into the occult.
Definitions from Webster
Supernatural- An order of existence beyond the visible observable universe of or relating to God or a god, demigod, spirit, or devil!!
Superhuman- Being above human: DIVINE
Divine- Of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God!
Now this is where occult fits. Cult- a great devotion to an idea or thing!
In other words, a religion that is based on a god or gods!
When I went to answer your question I was going to agree with you until I saw these definitions from Webster.
super natural means to be unnatural and beyond physics like ghost garbing you and throwing you across the room (stuff that science cant explain)
