How do Christians feel about astrology?

How does it help knowing that Jesus may have been a Capricorn?
Shouldn’t I see goats on the back of peoples cars instead of fish?

Astrology is a kid’s game. It has no basis in reality. It is not divination and has exactly as much power as you give it in your mind.
PS Jesus would have been a Pisces, since He was born around the spring equinox. December 25th is the date the Church chose to celebrate His birth. It was never meant to be the actual date of His birth.
Clues in the gospels (the Roman census, shepherds outside at midnight) and astronomers (the star that was a sign of His birth might have been 2 planets very close to a star that went supernova) point to March 20th or so as His actual date of birth.

it’s a form of divination that scripture condemns
Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch

Fish on the backs of cars have nothing to do with astrology.

It depends on the person. Some christians like it, others despise it. I’m catholic, for example an di love astrology! And also, I was trying to figure out what jesus’ natal chart was, but i went to many websites saying no one knows his real birthday, and they just picked december 25. hard to believe, but it’s true. I don’t see Jesus being a capricorn anyway. Maybe a Libra, or a Cancer, or a Pisces 😀

The Notorious Awesome Christ

Horoscopes didn’t exist back then. . .

No matter what religion, astrology is a joke! Everything written for the different astrological signs apply to everyone. It’s like fortune cookies. Get a grip man

There are numerous examples of people in the Bible acting in accord with astrology.
The Three Kings are a prime example.
Of course that just means the Bible is nonsense, not that astrology is sensible.

I think astrology is just a bunch of nonsense!
However, since I am a Sagittarius I am skeptical by nature.
But seriously, astrology is pagan and should be avoided by Christians.
It is possible, however, that God placed the constellations like that for signs and seasons, like Genesis 1:14-16 suggest.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
What we know as astrology today is merely a pagan interpretation of the real meanings of the stars. But since we already have the Bible to communicate God’s message, we don’t need the stars.
As far as Jesus is concerned, no one knows exactly when he was born. Apparently it is not important enough to mention his birthday in the Bible.

Mr McKenzie- Skeptical Christian

The scientific discrepancies are well documented. Even more apparent are the numerous Scripture passages that denounce astrology for its erroneous prophecies and its false worship of the creation rather than the Creator.
The underlying philosophy of astrology declares that one’s destiny can be found in the stars. In contrast, Christianity teaches that events of life are determined by a combination of God’s sovereign will and man’s personal moral choices. Astrology, on the other hand, attempts to destroy man’s accountability to God.
Horoscope devotees may think they can fall back on blaming the stars for their actions. But the Bible teaches that someday all mankind will stand before God to be judged. Humans are responsible for their conduct, and the Lord will not take into consideration the excuse that certain stars and planets were in the wrong conjunction.
Christians are to trust the holy Spirit to guide their lives, knowing that “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,” in Psalm 37:23. The guesswork prediction of astrology should hold no interest for believers who follow “a more sure world of prophecy,” according to 2 Peter 1:19. God in his mercy has veiled the future from man’s eyes, except those events detailed in eschatological biblical references.
If it were possible to know the events of tomorrow in detail, most people would not place their confidence in God’s wisdom to look lovingly after our future. Satan, who according to Isaiah 14:14 wanted equality with the Lord, still desires to be man’s substitute god. Astrology is a tool the devil uses to entice man to replace trust in God with dependence upon the whimsical uncertainties of the horoscope.

I believe in astrology, i love the stuff. I live in a small town with lots of Christians, and the response i have had from The Latter Day Saints, Jehovah Witness’s and the Salvation Army, the Baptist Church and the Seventh Day Adventist’s, is that they do not like astrology, that astrology is demonic? Which is bizarre considering “The three wise old men followed a star to get to Bethlehem”?
