How Can someone be a Christian Witch? A few years ago I was listening to a radio broadcast on Halloween!?

by Andielep:

It featured an American Witch who talked about Samhain . She had a phone in about spells and That she was also a Catholic!! I don’t understand!!! How can the two co-exist. I’m curious to know!!
I don’t hope to be both or practice it!! I just did not understand how someone could claim to be both.

I’m Roman Catholic!!
Hello Princess me dear!! Hope you are having a good day!!
Great answer as always !!!

Because most religious people dont even understand their own faith. Hardly surprising when it is full of lies and contradictions…

yes you can be a Christian Witch, I am one. I believe that there is one higher deity but whether it is a male or female is ridiculous God has no gender, So when i worship the feminine aspect or Goddess aspect I am still worshiping the same as I would if I would the Male aspect or God. They are one in the same. The bible’s original text was written in a male dominant language and if they truly had a word for a genderless God they would have used it. So I like to make my prayers special… Read more »

People can claim to be anything they want, but that does not make it so.
However It is not possible to be a Christian and a witch at the same time, because to be a Christian yo must be like Christ, and to be a witch is against His word. Jesus cannot go His own word.

Perhaps this lady was raised as a catholic and tehn started practising witchcraft as she got older. I’ve studied the craft for a few years now and although we have a deep respect for everybodies own beliefs I have never known anyone claim to be ‘A Catholic Witch’! (that’s actually kinda funny) The belief systems are completely different…There are so many but a prime example: In Catholisism there are many rules, (some pretty strict rules at that), in Witchcraft there is only one which is ‘An it harm none do as ye will’ (basically as long as you do not… Read more »

You are either Christian or Wiccan. It is impossible to be both because the tenets are in opposition of each other. Anyone who says they are both is deceiving themselves and anyone else they talk to about it.

MY cousin married (or is “bonded) with one. She is a Catholic and practices Wicca(otherwise known as being a witch) Wicca is also a paggan religion like catholicism. Many in Haiti(and many south american countries) practice catholicism and voodoo. Its mainly because the africans brought voodoo with them but thier slave owners forced them to worhsip thier catholic god. My cousins wife is from Columbia, she goes to church for show then practices wicca whenever. She knows very little of God. However at her “bonding” service to my cousin they were there on behalf of “guya” and some other god.

Hon, I’m Catholic, but I was once Wiccan. It’s a way to have your cake and eat it too. Christian witches normally start off life in a Christian family. They are raised that way and they, at some point, decide to become Wicca. Their hearts aren’t into it and they can’t really change their thinking from Chrisitan to Wiccan without feeling guilty for betraying their birth religion so a Christian witch is the compramise. Basically, a Christian witch believe in God, but aslo a Goddess and does spells (or what ever). I’ll be honest, I think it’s silly. You can’t… Read more »

Hello Andie! Fancy meeting you here!

To answer your question, perhaps it’s because in America the churches aren’t allowed to disallow anyone, even witches, from being members, because they might get sued for discrimination?

Christian Witch is an oxymoron. Witchcraft is condemned in The Bible. It is demonically inspired, and Christians must not be involved with it !

They cannot co-exist. Christians are forbidden to use magic, which utilises interactions with demons. The Holy Spirit gives us more power than magic ever could. The difference is that using Holy Spirit gifts we act under the authority of God. Magic involves the illusion of control of spiritual entities in order to impose your will on a person or situation.

Christianity and Wicca are two different beliefs. Catholics do have many rituals and pagaen rites in their belief so I can understand why this woman is confused. True Christians know that God said to beware of those who practice magic and spells. It’s not Godly.

I can’t see how you could realistically expect to simultaneously practice both Catholicism and Wicca, since they are two completely different religions, and I’m pretty sure there’s going to be facets that contradict each other.

The only thing I can think of is that she was from a Catholic background, and later embraced Wicca.
Alternatively, maybe she was just talking out of an orifice at the other end from her face. Just because someone’s talking about something on the radio doesn’t necessarily mean they know anything…

The bible specifically mentioned the abstinence from any form of spiritism. The two cannot co-exist. Aperson who engages in such and claims to be a christian, what is the standard of his/her belief? Acts 16:16-18; Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation21:8 and 22:15; Deuteronomy 18:10-12; Jeremiah 10:2; Isaiah 8:19,20… and the list just goes on and on, where the bible shuns such practices. If a person accepts the bible as God’s word, such one should be ready to abide by its laws and principles.

“what union can light have with darkness”

This practicing with is not operating under the influence of Christ.

God Condemns witchcraft, ans sorcery and astrology.
we have free will to do this, but God cares for the state of our soul

These are demonic practices that. I would compleatly destroy any material on witchcraft, have nothing to do with it, its spiritual cancer friend.

Don listen to hypocrites like you mentioned.

Thanks for the question

It does seem to be an oxymoron similar to Christians that eat pork or are gay. Well, a woman teacher that’s christian is an oxymoron since the bible forbids that too.

But, Jesus used magic, so he was also a Witch, although I prefer the term sorcerer.

They can’t co-exist. That lady was only kidding herself. And hopefully not others.

because both are wrong ways of life is you read the bible it tells you there the first comandment believe in only 1 god do not make images of him ( catholics and christians pray to 2 even 3 gods and images of them are all over churches)

a Christian witch flies around on a cross, instead of a broom. she also makes the sign of the cross after each spell.
