I improved seeing mine by sitting in a completely dark room. I held out my hands so that they were still in my vision range, and i focused on a point on the wall at least 2 inches above my hand. The more you do it, The easier it gets. For me it looked like heat on metal. A little light-wave.

Aura-seer? The magician James Randi has tested and debunked a variety of psychic phenomena.

Randi: Do you see an aura around my head?
Aura-seer: Yes, indeed.
Randi: Can you still see the aura if I put this magazine in front of my face?
Aura-seer: Of course.
Randi: Then if I were to step behind a wall barely taller than I am, you could determine my location from the aura visible above my head, right?

No aura-seer he asked would agree to take this simple test.

Practice looking at others with your eyes squinted.

Seriously, that’s how you develop this gift.

Eventually, you will be able to do it without squinting.

You’re delusional or you are experiencing visual symptoms of Glaucoma or other eye related illness. Go get your eyes checked just to be safe.

Your perception of a person or animal (or anything, really) can result in a visual manifestation, which will be unique to you and your perceptions. That is why, if you pick up ten different books on aura-reading, you’ll find ten different authors at odds with each other.

Nobody can help you with this, because it’s all in your head, sad to say.
