I’m very committed and a hard worker. I don’t usually believe in these things but I think it’s worth looking into and I am very interested. Any advice guys? And please don’t link me to those stupid websites, I want some real stuff. Thanks 🙂 And please…try not to be too offensive with your answers. Thank you.

  1. Scott Cunningham and Silver Ravenwolf are two good authors for beginning practitioners.
You may also wish to go to the Yahoo groups and search through them. There might even be a group in your area, where you could actually speak to a person face to face and maybe even find an instructor. I wish you the best on your journey.

  2. Ah, yes! I’m a professional spell caster.
I recommend you search different practices and then find your own path. Start with Wicca, Voodoo, Santeria and the like. I mean even Shamanism and New Thought, it’s all about spell casting.
The most important tip? You gotta learn how to raise the energy and project it for your desired outcome. That’s where I put most of my energy in. Because I do this so perfectly, the faith follows as a result of impressing myself. my mind and the Universal Mind with my desire. So far I haven’t had a spell fail. Today I was again amazed at the results I got. Remember: spells are not instant but I do know that I do move the energy instantly. And that’s when your luck starts shifting and the real magick begins.
Congratulations on your new path. May it be fruitful and filled with fun.
PS: You’ll need some cool tools. You’ll learn about these soon enough as you dig. I do love mine! 😉
    Peace!

  3. Modern Magick, by Donald Michael Kraig, is the bestselling, authoritative, and comprehensive introduction to the entire field of magick.
Whether pagan, tantrist, wiccan, midiaeval or golden dawner, this is the key introduction to the field.
    Here’s the amazon review:
“Modern Magick is the most popular, most complete, step-by-step instruction manual on how to do real magick that has ever been published. Already over 100,000 people are using it.
Author Donald Michael Kraig wrote this after teaching the information in classes for ten years. It is refined, tested, and easy to understand. It is filled with exercises, techniques, and rituals to help you. It is presented in a series of eleven lessons. Follow the lessons, practice the rituals and techniques, and by the end of your work you will be a magician.
What does it cover? Rituals, healing, initiation, talismans, astral travel, creative visualization, psychic self-defense, evocation of spirits, the Kabalah, physical exercise, and magical tools such as wands.
Want more? You’ll also learn the secrets of true meditation, how to use the Tarot, how to remember your dreams, how to do the rituals of Western Magick, including rituals of the Pentagram, Hexagram, Middle Pillar, Rose Cross, and Watchtower. You’ll learn how to manipulate magical energy, secrets of relaxation, Wicca, pathworking, Tantra, and sex magick.
Once you have finished working your way through this book you will be an accomplished magician. You will be able to perform real magick. Then this book will become the most valuable reference tool in your collection of books.
What if you want to know even more about a subject? No problem. Each chapter has a bibliography so you can go even deeper into any topic. There is an annotated bibliography at the end with even more resources.
In the new, second edition the contents pages contain more information so it is even easier to find what you need, but there is also an entirely new appendix with answers to many of the most frequently asked questions that Kraig has received over the years. This book is a must!”

  4. Let’s clarify.Do you mean illusion type magic? Most major cities have someone teaching. You’re on the internet-Google.If you’re looking for Harry Potter type magic-white and black,etc- go to myth and folklore.

  5. merry meet i am also very interested in magick and i have decided to follow the path my most treasured book is the solo practitioner by Scott Cunnigham he is very honest and contains easy to understand information i hope you find what your looking for an please if u need any more help don’t hesitate to contact me blessed be.

  6. Depends on what kind of Magic you want to study. If you are interested in Wicca/witchcraft, yeah, go read a book by Scott Cunningham or browse witchcraft Web sites.
Are you interested in ceremonial magick (Enochian, Thelemic, Solomonic, Planetary, Magical/Hermetic Christian) are you interested in post-modern magick (Chaos, Ma’at, Illuminism) or neo Shamanism? There are lots of Web based resources for these things. I can’t recommend anything unless I know what exactly you’re looking for.
You might want to go visit Realms of Magick chat board or Sacred Magic Forums chat board and look throught the forums for a better idea of what is out there and what you want to pursue.
PS. I’ve read the work of Kraig. It is very popular but in my opinion, it’s crap. It also is the author’s take on ceremonial magick of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

  7. There are many different kinds of magic that are available to learn. If I were you, I would focus more on which sort of magic you’d like to practice. Do you want a religious witchcraft? Look into Wicca and Neo-Paganism. Do you like folk magic? Look into Hoodoo and PowWow. Are you into faeries? Study up on the fae of Western Europe and the practices associated with them. Do you like pomp and circumstance? Look into Ceremonial Magick. Do you like to bend your brain into fantastic pretzel shapes? Chaos Magic may be for you. A bit New Age? Take some classes in Metaphysics. Want to heal? Learn Reiki. And there is much, much more. You shouldn’t try to learn it all. Narrow your focus.
For a good overview on Neo-Pagan magic, try reading Amber K’s True Magick. From there, you’ll be able to spot the b.s. in many of the other books along the way.

  8. 1. Magic (Sorry I refuse to be an elitist by adding the K ~ If you don’t know the difference between illusion and real magic, the K won’t help.) is subtle and most websites that sell spells are sucker sites. Sorry, but that is truth. It is also nothing like in the movies or on TV.
    2. You need to be 18 years or older before anyone will train you.
    3. IF you really want to learn, first off you need to find someone who knows magic or who can guide you because hit and miss can do more harm than good, also if you use someone else’s spells, they won’t work as well as if you do them yourself.
You can ask me more specific things if you would like. I am not a witch, but am Wiccan and have studied witchcraft and the like. Just not for me.
I noticed most people are putting Wicca and Witchcraft/magic in the same catagory. Wicca is a polytheistic RELIGION, Witchcraft/magic is not Wicca though most of the authors who write about Wicca are both. Not all Witches are Wiccans either since Witchcraft and magic doesn’t need ANY deity of anykind to work it. Hope this helps.
