How can I go very deep meditation?

I want to go deeper and harder. How can I do that?


  1. Find a point of focus like a lit candle, a dim room, use a sound machine to dull outside noise. It’s very very hard and takes years of practice.

  2. Maybe stop wanting it. A want is something created in the mind, which is what meditation is designed to rid.
    Instead maybe feel how it would feel, it is there, and you may just find it in this process.
    One thing I do is listen to a piece of ‘classical’ or ‘instrumental’ music and feel it with my body. This aids me.

  3. you have to completely relax; do not have even that “Determined” goal of meditation, do not have any goal of willfull force/ determination; also try to find out a way of completely letting go of everything in life; just absolutely forget everything for a moment, as if you no longer care.
    just focus one pinpointed thing; at first and for a long while this is very difficult to do; at the beginner’s; try this–> count numbers systematically in even rhythm; concentrating only on the rhythm with all of your mind’s focus; or if that’s too boring use a name, or a sentence, or anything; your mind and body will naturally fall into its pattern and relax into meditation; remember to breathe gently and yet in tune with yourself (meaning natural breathing)
    you can’t accomplish it in one feat; it can take time to slowly work at it; and peel away all the distractions (automatic thoughts; wanderings which the mind slips into)

    There’s a (slightly) affordable CD version of the above called the Gateway Experience, which is still regularly blowing my mind after years of use.

  5. Since meditation originates from religious practice, you need to develop your spirituality. In order to achieve deeper inner peace and calm mind, one works hard to give up attachments. In the third section in the Ninth Talk of the Zhuan Falun Lecture, you can read how to calm your mind.
