How can a person escape their sexual past without divine intervention ?

I dont think that it is possible. Unless you put God first, and ask him for His help, then you
cannot really escape that. It usually comes back to haunt people in other forms and create spiritual
setbacks. It can be through smoking cigarettes, stress, anxiety, mood swings, etc. Or sometimes
they just go back to being promiscuous, Man or Woman. This happened to me about 7 years ago,
when I was dating someone who lived next door to me. She said that she was trying to overcome
her sexual addictions. But she refused to acknowledge God as He was. So she suffered some
things mentally afterwards. And had a lot of guilt too. A lot of people ask this question though all the time. And you even
have some in the adult film industry who deal with this issue. What do you think ? About divine
intervention and this matter. Even if you are not a believer, dont you think that there has to be
some kind of spiritual awakening in order for you to be healed…………………..

  1. I don’t live in a place where people talk about religion left and right. I don’t hear god this and god that when I walk out my door. If I were a sex addict I would get therapy, I wouldn’t talk to my next door neighbor about god and divine intervention.

  2. A wise man once said — “There’s no saint without a past; no sinner without a future”. I trust in his words, Zodiac, even when I’m not religious in the least!

  3. I agree. Even non believers go through this because they have a child or they meditate often or start a 12 step program or even start living by some basic moral code…you can only grow as a person when you stop thinking in finite terms…and to think in infinite, creative, moral, spiritual terms is to tap into the divine…..

  4. Yes, there has to be a spiritual awakening to be healed. I believe the spiritual awakening begins with an acknowledgment of a higher power, and in submitting to the higher power, and asking it for help and forgiveness. If you don’t do this you will have a big hole in your soul and never be happy.
But the thing is you can’t force an awakening on anyone. If they are too wrapped up in the details of their life to take a step back and look at the big picture, then they will always be too narrow minded to ask for help. It comes from within.

  5. Know what though? Even if a person is forgiven for their past, there will still be ramifications for their actions. Consequences don’t just disappear or stop happening after you have some kind of spiritual experience (like, say, turning to Jesus Christ for forgiveness). We still have to own up to our past mistakes and reap whatever we’ve sown. That’s how it goes, whether you’ve repented before God or not.

  6. Religion isnt big in my area. They have street pastors on the street when people go out drinking but everyone thinks they are batty weirdos.
