Have you ever WATCHED a movie that was MIND BLOWING..?

Inception it is!
Inception brought an even bigger imagination as we will ever see the picture of human subconscious through Nolan’s eye. The story is clearly one of the most genius, original, and terrifically yet confusing at the same time. It reeks of quantum mechanics!!..I truly and definitely enjoyed it!
What is yours?

  1. I saw Inception the other day and I nearly left it was awful. I thought it was contrived and poorly put together and for the average audience who don’t understand lucid dreaming totally confusing. The end was as predicable as the Tories cocking up the UK again. Sorry Sarah but it was a turd

  2. Yes. Quite a few, actually, most of them ‘oldies’:
    The Exorcist,
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,
    Sophie’s Choice,
    Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf,
Close Encounter of the Third Kind,

  3. I think these films are much better, and they have actually already explored those ideas in their own unique way:
Blade Runner with its themes of Humanity and Philosophy. Roy Baty’s quote before he dies, always leaves me in awe. Not exactly mind-blown but it has me thinking about life.
2001: A Space Odyssey, which really leaves you confused and amazed at the end of such an epic film about Life, Philosophy, What makes us Human? and etc.
Dark City, which explores reality and fantasy in the conscious and subsconscious mind of the main character in a dark and foreboding world.
Some people would also add The Matrix Trilogy to this list, since it also featured those topics, eventhough the Trilogy became rubbish after the first film.
And there’s alot of other films of course.

  4. I like movies with clever twists that make you go “Wow, I never thought that could’ve happened!” Se7en, The Usual Suspects and Phonebooth were great twists.

  5. The first time I saw 2001, was pretty amazing, alien artifact, human spaceflight and a sociopathic computer.
Of course there were a couple of other moments of movie amazingness – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbWNZkoQHuE
Brainstorm – literally blew me away – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VardFGDZPu4
Defending your Life – an ABSOLUTELY boring “looking” movie – but amazingly profound movie – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BF897aNyxSs
A little bit of truth from the past – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKprr3tEBew
The Matrix – when it originally came out was not doing particularly well, when I first saw it – the theater had only about 30 people in it – It was groundbreaking.
Although I think “Vanilla Sky” and “Solaris” , and oddly enough – something like Oceans 11 – which had a great ensemble come to mind as the most closely related to Mr. Nolan’s Inception.
    Vanilla Sky – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTb95TxUc2M
    Solaris – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2i9BjClEX8
Outside of fiction – I’d have to say that EASILY the most amazing piece of documentary / narrative was “The Fog of War” – an unflinching and frank assessment of US Foreign policy as seen by a former participant – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfPwR00HXM0 , While Mr. McNamara is not always – perhaps as candid as he could be, the perspective he makes available to us are still pretty amazing.
