Zazen is just a form of meditation. It is a practice under Zen Buddhism. I had trouble holding the sitting poses as my back started hurting because the back has to stay erect.
I used to practice regularly – I found it very mentally refreshing. Unfortunately changes in life cause changes in routine and I don’t meditate as often as I did. I’m still trying to walk my path though.
I sat zazen for four years. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done because I learned how to observe what was happening in my body closely and without distraction which helped me learn a few things about coping with my health problems.
Sitting with a group is much easier than sitting alone, especially for a beginner.
