Wicca is an ethical system and they are not prone to crime.

Wicca has nothing to do with it, it’s a peaceful religion. the problem is all these ballbags who think theyre gangsta

Wicca is an earth loving religion that never tries to harm anyone or anything, with respect to all life. Now there have been cases when Wiccans solve crimes, namely with dowsing, which can find robbers, missing people, and many other things.

I do not think there has been research on that specific group, however, because of a craze at one time there was research into satanism (yes I know they are totally different-but to a lot of less informed they are one in the same) at any rate, the satanic research found little supportive evidence – so if the outright anticonforming satanists are hard to pin down I imagine that the wiccan groups would be even more difficult since they are not criminal in their approach by its very principles.

The Guy in the City

Relating Wicca and Crime is like saying Hippies and drive by shootings. They don’t go together.

Crystal clear

To say that Wicca is directly linked to crime is a grossly inaccurate statement. Yet, I’ve heard it. Small town cops with small town minds and a serious lack of education on alternative religions have given some local Wiccans a hard time. One had the nerve to actually state that all Wiccans are witches and witches promote everything from sadomasochism to child pornography. Of course, when asked to site his source of evidence of this, he was unable to provide any.
Wicca is an ethical religion and certainly does not promote (or condone) illegal and harmful activities. The Wiccan Rede states, “An it harm none, do what you will.” What the Rede means is that any action that harms none is acceptable.
We do have some common sense mind you, and we understand that it is impossible to *never* cause any harm to any living thing. We all have to eat, so something must be harmed, be it plant or animal, to sustain our own lives. This isn’t to say we should be totally passive either, allowing ourselves to be harmed. There are circumstances where self-defense is necessary. The Rede is a guideline to live by, not a commandment. Harm as little as possible is generally implied here, and this is understood by serious practitioners of Wicca.
Wiccans also believe in the Law of Return (sometimes called The Threefold Law) – which basically means that any energy one sends out, be it good or bad, will be returned to the sender.
Upholding just these two core beliefs of Wicca alone means living an ethical, moral lifestyle.
Now, this is not to say that no Wiccan ever has committed any crime. That would also be an inaccurate statement. In my 15+ years of Wicca and witchcraft, I do personally know of two individual (unrelated) Wiccans who have been involved in and arrested for a crime. People are people – humans are imperfect beings and we sometimes make mistakes. Some mistakes are bigger than others. And there are those few from any religious group who end up not truly living their beliefs.
You simply cannot judge the many by the actions of a few.
