Although there are a few techniques unique to chaos magic (such as some forms of sigil magic), chaos magic is often highly individualistic and borrows liberally from other belief systems, due to chaos magic having a central belief that belief is a tool. Some common sources of inspiration include such diverse areas as science fiction, scientific theories, traditional ceremonial magic, neoshamanism, Eastern philosophy, world religions, and individual experimentation. Despite tremendous individual variation, chaos magicians (or “chaotes”) often work with chaotic and humorous paradigms, such as the worship of Hundun from Taoism or Eris from Discordianism. Some chaos magicians also use psychedelic drugs in practices such as psychedelic semenancy or chemognosticism.

Chaos magick is a form of magic focusing not on light or dark, or good or evil, but balance. Well, not exactly. Druidical magic focusses on nature and balance, chaos magic focuses on the lack of balance, on the insanity, violence, death, and hatred. Not like evil does, because evil’s ultimate goal is world takeover, same as good. Chaos followers want chaos, destruction, and the lack of order. The magick is based upon achieving this, and for the most part uses manipulation more often then outright offense. The chaos followers want to see the sides of good and evil hate each other so much that they destroy each other violently and endlessly, and they keep the hatred so that neither side can realize that they’re being manipulated.
Death, destruction, hatred, chaos, the breakdown of order and violence are the ideal environments for this magick, and the more of this there is, the more powerful the magick grows.
Hope I helped 🙂

“The opening and movement of dimensions are what determine the possibilities for reality. Of course they are also the markers or parameters of space and time in the first attention, or what is known as the space-time continuum. The dimensions of the second attention function differently than those of the first, but the principle is the same. As the Mother moves to open space she moves the dimensions, literally unfolding them. The exact where and when of her movement determines what will be unfolded, what will manifest there.
“What now seems to be rock-solid reality in the first attention is only a part of the whole picture of reality. This is why the first attention has often been called ‘maya’ or ‘illusion’ by those who have journeyed deeply into the second attention. The only problem with that judgment is that those journeyers had left the worst and most magnetic of the first attention realities behind, the plight of the Mother in Hell. And eventually all such journeys have ended in the most grave reality of the four-dimensional first attention.”
