i dont really believe in stuff like that. i guess i would have to experience it to believe it. but still i would imagine that you develop them on your own time. or you may not have them.i dont think that you could eat a certain food or stand on your head to make them come… but yeah. my best advice is to ask the people who have them, ie mother, grandmother, sister, etc.

My mother has seen a spirit in her school while she was teaching a class and when she was in college she actually called a spirit along with her friends.Though she doesn’t have any psychic powers.
The basic step is to do meditation and get to know ur inner self. Its not very easy as it requires lots of practice and years to master.Do meditation daily and u will see the difference in few days. But do it properly taking care of the breathing (inhaling and exhaling).
The above site mentioned by “vera” is also very good.

You do not have to be a psychic to experience déjà vu, which very often is just what you want in life so you dream about it but you don’t really remember dreaming about it and since you want it in real like, you make sure to achieve it, and when it happens…you get the feeling of déjà vu since you already dreamt about it.
Now, the first thing in order to allow your psychic powers to develop in to first believe in them. I don’t think you do at this point since you’re using the word “claim” when talking about other women in your family seeing ghosts.
Keep an open mind, relax, trust your feelings and do not be afraid of anything (there’s nothing to be afraid of).
You have to concentrate and dip into that six sense of yours.
Like those blind people who can see better than anybody else with sight because they are more in tune with their other senses.

Anyone can “claim” to be psychic. Another matter if you accept their claim strictly based on their word and not on independent testing.
What would this world be like if there really psychic ability?
It has been argued that if psychic power existed, to use it would be “a gross and unethical violation of privacy” and “professions that involve deception would be worthless” There wouldn’t be any need for undercover work or spies. Every child molester would be identified immediately. No double agent could ever get away with it. Psychics would be in demand for high paying jobs in banks, businesses and government. Most psychics would be very, very rich…. and since psychics are such altruistic persons, giving up their time to help others talk to the deceased or figure out what to do with their lives, they would be winning lotteries right and left and giving part of their winnings to help the needy. We wouldn’t need trials of accused persons: psychics could tell us who is guilty and who is not. The polygraph would be a thing of the past. Of course, the operative word here is if. If psychic power existed the world would be very different.
No one has ever shown, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event.
If they could it would be one of the greatest events in human history. At least a great as landing on the moon.
