Why can't the experts pin down the exact time when the Age of Aquarius begins....?
The Age of Aquarius is linked to the return of the Goddess....the Kundalini....Some are also linking it to 2012 and the destruction of the Earth.....Why is there such wide disagreement about this?
Watch the 1979 film "Hair"..
for the same reasons that there are sooo many different religions...everyone is entitled to their opinions and have some sort of following that agrees
The Age of Aquarius began when The 5th Dimension (singing group) started singing the song.
It's because the constellations overlap so much. Aquarius begins to cross the ecliptic long before Pisces has completely passed. That's my understanding of this rather difficult topic, which is astronomical as well as astrological.
Yours in Christ, Nick
Reading the future in the alignment of the planets in relation to the stars, is no different to reading tea leaves. Just because someone can draw up brightly colored charts with lots of circles and lines, means absolutely nothing.
There was great music and and some incredible film making in the 60's...but can't we put the rest of that screwed up decade to rest?
Constellations overlap each other. It is hard to determine where one ends and the other begins.
Because it depends on how you measure. Like many things. Vernal Equinox, absolute or sidereal, do you consider the "cusp, " if so when does it become the new age rather than years in the process of "becoming" etc. Not that it matters in the real world, but there are many ways to look at the heavens. Do you know how long a day is? If you say 24 hours you are probably thinking of a solar day rather than a more accurate sidereal day that is about 4 minutes shorter. Same sort of thing.
We're talking about 2000-ish year epochs here. The boundaries are bound to be a little fuzzy. Astrologers don't even agree on where to draw the boundaries. (One has said Aquarius started in 1447 CE, another, not till 3597.) The zodiacal constellations don't exactly divide into 12 precisely even arcs of sky.
Besides, with the sub-century life spans of humans, people get a little anxious about missing the chance to participate in a glorious new age. So they tend to anticipate it.
It has to do with the procession of the equinoxes and the slight angular wobble of the earth. Ancient Egyptians along with other ancient cultures realized that the sun would rise the morning of the spring equinox on a different sign of the zodiac about every 2150 yrs. We will enter the age of Aquarius around the year 2150 A.D. and it will last till around 4300 A.D.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world. Here is what a Mayan elder says on the subject: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6300744/2012-is-not-the-end-of-the-world-Mayan-elder-insists.html
These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

It seems the Mayans and their accuracy thousands of years ago as to when eclipses would occur and when the transits of Venus occur and other astronomical logistics are a fair sight more accurate than people in 1500 whose religion told them the earth was the center of the universe. The ancients knew alot and alot of it was destroyed when the library in Alexandria was burned down with 100,000 books and scrolls of ancient history and Spaniards burned 496 of 500 codex's of the Mayans
According to one Mayan the last 5125 year cycle was about the domination of men. The previous 5125 years were about the dominance of women. The cycle that starts on 12-21-12 will be about men and women working together, although the Ancient Mother might let the tectonic plates come loose to give us a scare
It didn't begin on any exact day, and it's having
a rather rough birth, but if you ask me it began
in the late 60's, when new enlightened ways of
thinking and Eastern philosophy first began to
become popular in our society.
It's all to do with astrology. There are no experts in this field, you just make up whatever you want. Can it be surprising that there's no agreement?
2012 is a hoax. I thought you might have heard that by now.
