Kinetic energy, power of the mind, chi, how am I able to remove pain by just acting like I'm removing it?

I've been noticing something strange happening and would like some answers. When I was a kid and whenever I would get an ache or pain somewhere I would act out pulling out a knife or dagger where the spot of pain was. It actually helped and oddly enough worked.
For the last few months I've just tried it again for headaches and sore muscles (been working out rigorously lately) and it somehow worked.
I know I sound like a total nutcase but I would really like to know how this could actually work.
When I "remove" the pain, I simply concentrate on the spot where the pain is and imagine it as a dagger, then I actually wrap my hands around this "imaginary object" and pull it out slowly. All the while concentrating heavily on the "dagger" and visualizing the pain being pulled out.
The really strange part is that I can "feel" the pain being pulled out. So how am I able to remove the pain?
One last thing that's kind of odd, is that I can also imagine the pain into a "dagger" and let it enter my body. I could actually feel the pain getting worse the further I imagined the dagger going in.

both biofeedback and visualization are proven techniques. just feel lucky that you are able to do it easily, most people have to work at it.

The power of suggestion is enormous. For those with a very pliable mind (usually children and young persons) all this is quite possible. What MAY be happening for you not to feel the pain is that your natural pain relieving hormones get released. And when you 'put' the dagger in you probably can simulate pain
What you experience may not be something new. Hypnosis also works by inserting suggestions deep in your subconscious. Probably this explains your case

Sounds like you have a really powerful visualization ability. It is just one of many techniques that can help with pain. People who don't know how on their own can take training in things like biofeedback to help them cope. I don't think anyone really knows the specific mode of action of this kind of thing, but it is not as unusual as you think. It doesn't actually change reality, just the way you perceive it. People can actually undergo major surgery without anesthesia using hypnosis.

it is all about the power of the mind, if you have acually been doing this as a kid then your body will honestly react to what your mind is thinking. It is the same way that women will want a child so bad that there bodies will accually go through with some of the changes just because the mind tells it to be true without acually having a baby.

It's called "The placebo effect." You can look it up.
