Is the issue Healthcare or consciousness?

If I were to write an open letter to the President of The United States of America. I would say, Mr. President, Healthcare is not the issue. Consciousness is the issue. And your consciousness, Mr. President, is what needs change, not healthcare. America has the greatest healthcare system in the world. America has the best doctors and nurses in the world. American is the leader and innovator of new medical technology and pharmaceutical advancements, in the world. What do we need healthcare reform for? Yes, there are a few who can't afford healthcare insurance. But American already has a working system in place, right now, that provides full healthcare for the indigent and illegal. Revamp that system, but do it after you address the real issues facing America. What we need Mr. President, is to get Americans back to work. What we need is to stimulate our economy from the consumer up, not from the corporation down. What we need is to remove the bounds confining American ingenuity, and free the American Spirit of entrepreneurialism. Wake up America! What we need is a change of consciousness.
Where do you stand on the matter?
Sorry, there is no best answer offered. Sound logic and rational debate is not possible absent an educated and well informed perspective.

I laughed at the "America has the greatest healthcare in the world" bit.
Hm. You in the real world at all? Our healthcare system is TERRIBLE.
I don't know if Obama's plan is the solution or not. I'm still thinking that through. However, our healthcare system DOES need fixing. So does our education system, our social services system, and so forth.

There's an immediate need for health care reform, it's like starvation in the third world, the need is real and threatening.
The opposition to it is a betrayal of consciousness, who with a heart could oppose it.

LOL. American has the greatest health care in the world??? We're at the bottom of the list in terms of life expectancy in an industrial country. And we're at the top of the list in terms of cost.
And all of that still doesn't cover the 50 million uninsured and the millions more that are under-insured.
What America needs is a health care system whose goal it is is to make people healthy, not make people rich.

Maybe you should throw some truths in there. Like try this...
Mr. President, Healthcare is a huge issue. Consciousness is also a ssue. And your consciousness, Mr. President, is what needs change, along with healthcare. America has the a pretty poor healthcare system compared to most of the developed the world. America doesn't have the best doctors and nurses in the world. American is not always the leader and innovator of new medical technology and pharmaceutical advancements, in the world but pretty close due to the profits they find here. What do we need healthcare reform for? EVERYONE Yes, there are a few who can't afford healthcare insurance. American does not have a working system in place, right now, that provides full healthcare millions of legal citizens. Revamp that system, and while doing this you will also address the other issues facing America. What we need Mr. President, is to get Americans back to work. Without having to be on disability or being homeless due to bankrupcy due to healthcare, they can go back to work and have jobs instead of feeding off of disability. We also need is to stimulate our economy from the consumer up, and from the corporation down. What we need is to remove the bounds confining American ingenuity, and free the American Spirit of entrepreneurialism. Wake up America! What we need is a change of consciousness.
