If you got offered eternal reincarnation, would you take it?
Living forever but as different people. Perhaps, when we die in this life, we're reincarnated into one of the supposedly infinite other universes.
I think I like the idea because if we all lived forever, we'd have to end up with the same family members and friends again and again, because we'd have infinite lives. Plus, it would be so amazing to live different lives, even if some of them involved intense heartbreak.
I'm not obsessed with this, but it certainly has got my brain going.
What are your thoughts?
P.S. Offensive answers will be reported.
NO IM GOING TO BE myself forever....you arent supposed to threaten others..
No, I already have eternal life in Christ Jesus, though I have done nothing to earn it.
no because there is no reincarnation
Well lets just say there is reincarnation and you have liveed 1000 times before this. Do you remember it? Has it helped you? How has it effected your life today? WHAT GOOD IS IT! And that is way I trust in my Jesus.......
John 14:1-6, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
I don't know if the term "eternal reincarnation" really works. Reincarnation is essentially recycling of your energy. Either you believe in it, or you don't. I don't think there's any kind of time (eternal or otherwise) attached to it.
Reincarnation is also not really geared towards family or friends because it's your energy being recycled. Theres no way to say that you would be reincarnated as human, only as a living thing. Most living things contain the same elements, wether it be human, plant, or animal. So really the belief in reincarnation cant be summed up to an amount, and it also cant be summed up to a species.
To believe in reincarnation, you would have to accept the notion that you may never be reincarnated as another human, and never cross paths with any of the same people even if you were.
Nothing about your scenario entices me.
Would you know that your living for eternity? Meaning would you remember your past lives?
If so, not interested. I could end up living life, after life, of pain and torment, and have to remember every second of it!
And as much as I love my family members, if I have to spend too much time with some of them in THIS life time, I get really stressed out. If I knew I was to spend the rest of eternity with them, I'd say no thanks. I don't care how much you love someone. That much time with them would be pure Hell!
And if you don't remember your other lives, what would be the point of accepting the deal? You would have no way of knowing if you really are going to live again, or that your just going to die and that's it.
No i would rather go to heaven and have eternal life with Jesus where there is no more pain or suffering
I don't see why the energy and matter of which we're composed wouldn't be recycled in some manner. It's not reincarnation, but it certainly means that a component lives on, if nothing more than food for another living thing.
That is exactly what happens to all of us.
I do believe in it.
And yes I would. Living forever as different people.
It would give me personally, as in my true self, different experiences.
But addition to my belief in reincarnation, unlike others, I would like a break once. Maybe end up in Heaven once I'm tired as hell.
