at times, just before i drift off into sleep there will be a buzzing......, but its not heard so much as it's felt. i can describe it as what noise would probably feel like if you COULD feel it. it's a little scary at times. sorry, it is hard to explain. i also have sleep paralysis upon waking on occassion; is this related in any way? has anyone heard of this, what it might be

It sounds related and it doesn't sound like a religious problem. If you are sort of hearing it, I would say it sounded like tinnitus but if you are truly feeling it I would guess it is nerve related.
Sleep paralysis upon waking is not unusual.

um.... you could have an imbalance in nutrients (minerals and vitamins) or you could be stressed.
Yes... it could be related to sleep paralysis.
I advise you see a doctor or naturopath

Sleep paralysis is from your body returning after an out of body experience.
The buzzing I have too and I believe it is our vibration levels being tuned to higher levels, and for healing.

I think it is some physiological thing and nothing to worry about. Sleep paralysis is also normal; it keep you from walking around in your sleep and is a protective device.

quit putting all those quarters into the machine by the bed to stop the vibrations, and untuck your sheets to alleviate the paralysis.
sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
have a nice day!

Someone else here suggested something similar. The buzzing is a kind of detachment from the physical, as the subtle body (also called the astral body) detaches unusual sounds can often be heard (or felt). The reason behind feeling them rather than hearing them is that you are actually hearing through your subtle body not your physical, your physical body is simply reacting to this.
As for paralysis, this is definitely a 'symptom' of astral projection, so it seems likely this is what is happening. Don't fear it, nothing less evolved than an astral entity can enter this plane, that's why we have to leave our physical selves behind to travel astrally, we are too materialistic and way too bound to this realm of matter to enter in physical form, although a person who achieves enlightenment is supposed to be able to transcend the physical while still employing a physical form, however their physical form is a bit different to ours.
