there is nothing in the bible forbidding it so it isn't a sin, but it is stupid, why leave a perfectly good and working body and leave it empty for demons to get in.

Actually, I know several Christians who claim to practice astral projection. But some Christians (mostly Fundamentalists) feel that it somehow opens up a gateway for demonic spirits.

This is not a power given to human beings. If it is not from God it is from Satan.

ASTRAL PROJECTION or soul travel is an occult practice, an out of body experience produced through meditation or witchcraft. It is an occult practice and powered by evil spirits. Once a person takes this soulish control over his/her spirit, they can enter the spirit realm any time and talk to demons. We are to be under the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit. These people need to repent and be in godly meditation on Scriptures.

Because the priesthood always hordes the secret wisdom for itself while forbidding the profane masses from relieving their bondage.They then, as witnessed in the answers here, deem such things being of the 'Devil'. As a power play, It makes perfect sense; If the true Occult knowledge was made public in the same way as the divisive tenets of mainstream religion, there'd be no Church hierarchy, no anointed ruling caste to bow down before. Maybe that will change soon, I dunno but you can bet those in control of the Christian church (hell all of the major institutions) know all about the hidden teachings & exercise them regularly for their own ends, judging by the state of the world.
It frustrates me because some of these so called forbidden teachings like Astral projection cast an entirely different light on what we know of the world today; it would make SO many people examine their beliefs twice & realize our true worth instead of partaking of the self hatred & seperation generated by consumer religion.
Information by itself isn't dangerous, its what we do with it that counts.

It is witchcraft. Even in conversation I had about this specific practice in the past with a Wiccan Priestess (I had as a neighbor many years ago).....it does leave you open to demonic spirits (even she believed that). I am not one to believe in silliness, and I do not necessarily believe the claims they make as to this practice.....but if the people practicing it are telling you it is spiritually dangerous.....perhaps you should think twice about it.
