For those who seek, what is your opinion and suggestions on following the below quote?

Your search among books, word upon word, may lead you to the depths of knowledge, but it is not the way to receive the reflection of your true self.
When you have thrown off your ideas as to mind and body, the original truth will fully appear. Zen is simply the expression of truth; therefore longing and striving are not the true attitudes of Zen.

  1. Ive meditated before. Its a good feeling to stop that sound in your head from going on and on over things.
It makes you concentrate and think clearer.
Without the bong that is lol

  2. False ! because your not getting to the root ! we are conceived in sin & born a sinner, until you grasp that you will go around in circles your whole life
Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
    Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

  3. All belief systems have value, but are taken to extremes
by human ideologies. Zen is like agnosticism. Too much
    Zen will leave one half-@ssed!
I got a practical explanation for the Zen koans once.
The guy said the reason they asked these stupid questions, like “What is the sound of one hand clapping?”
Was to get the student to overcome EGO. Trying to find an intelligent answer for a stupid question.
Myself, I think there was an added dimension to the masters intentions. Trying to get the student to hit a mental
state where his “logical” mind shut down, and the
subconscious mind could kick in and one actually gets
“enlightenment”! Which is something that is experienced,
not intellectualized, and often there are no words to
    desribe it.
I also waited for years for my Teacher, as the saying goes,”When the student is ready, the Teacher will appear!” That guy also gave a practical explanation for this.
When one reaches a state of spiritual maturity, that they
are no longer opinionated, and are open to things and
discovery. Everyone and everything becomes their
Teacher. Like watching the animals play and they don’t worry. Or hearing wisdom come from the mouth of a
    small child.

  4. To be a true Christian one must be crucified with Christ…die to ones self, live for Christ.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live, yet not I , but Christ, liveth in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by Faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
The only words we should meditate on are GOD’S.
Jesus said , I am the way the truth and the life, NO man cometh unto the Father but by me. John 14:6
Jesus is the vine, we are the branches John 15:5
