  1. Least fav.
Gojira (I listened after I seen you talking about them) – The Link
Tool – I’ve always hated Tool
Opeth – Death Whispered A Lullaby
Meshuggah (Only heard a few songs) – None as of the moment
The Ocean (Haven’t heard of them, but I’ll check them out)
    *Lol, I’m sorry

  2. uhhh… I don’t know all of their songs to choose a least favorite…
Gojira – Connected (well, it’s an instrumental)
Opeth – not sure, but I’ll say the Lotus Eater, but I like it, just maybe not as much…
Meshuggah – well, what I’ve listened to I liked… I didn’t like Shed on the first listen, though. But this is not a definitive answer.
and I haven’t heard anything from Tool and The Ocean yet.

  3. oh man that is tough…those are some of my favorite bands ever!
    Gojira – From Mars
Tool – I would probably agree with Bottom
Opeth – I would also agree with Black Rose Immortal
    Meshuggah – Re-Inanimate
The Ocean – sorry don’t know them well enough to have a least fav
edit…wow, how can you HATE Tool? I hope that person at least has enough brain cells to respect them and realize how amazing they are, even if you don’t like the music.
Sorry Killer Peaches…I didn’t realize you know everything about music.

  4. Tool
    The Pot
    Fourty six &2
    Parabol/Parabola
    Opiate
    No Quarter
    Swamp song
I took one from each album.
The others I don’t know well enough. I will say, Meshuggah is very interesting. I need to hear more of them.
    ****
third eye , don’t be pompous. Tool isn’t for everyone.

  5. Gojira- Just got into them their new album is good.
Tool- Great great band, They don’t have bad songs, too bad if you just don’t get it.
Opeth- Ahh the might giants of the prog metal world also don’t have any bad tunes
Messugha again are amazing I hanvt hrd a song yet I could head bang too.
The Ocean hrd of them never hrd the music any recommendation on where to start?

  6. hmmmmmm
Gojira…. The Link is coparatively bad. (only started listening to them a month ago)
Tool…. 50% of their catalogue is monotonous and overlong, and bores me to tears. So pick a song, and there is a 50% chance it’ll be my least favorite XD. I guess “Stinkfist” is as good of one not to like as any.
Opeth- How about the ENTIRE Watershed album. Most bore-tacular album I can recall being hailed as greatness in my lifetime ( not counting U2 albums since the Joshua Tree) Probably “The Heir Apparent” or “Hex Omega”. Honestly…I lsiten to a lot of stuff, and I still gotta ask..this album is good HOW?!?!?!
Meshuggah- “”Aztec Two-Step” I really have nto been able to get into much of their Pre- Chaos Sphere stuff.
The Ocean. (blushes) ya know…. Roxel and APC had told me about these guys..and I have kinda not got around to listening…… (oops)
Any good recommendation for GOOD songs to start?
***Perse… LOL.. thanks for busting the Hero down…but it is funny to me, your least favorite Tool song is actually my favorite ( The Pot). Justin’s bassline gets me all hot and bothered on that one.
***Satch.. teh same way one hates any band dude. Just cuz Tool has a legion of fans don’t mean they are gonna tickle everyone’s pickle. I don’t hate them, but I find a WHOLE lot of their music repetitive and boring, and that is after having sat through it. I would guess I like 1 in 3 Tool songs.
The thing with muscial “Genius” is you either tend to hit a home run, or fall on your face. In a lot of peoples opinions, Maynard does the latter too often to get into them. And I say this despite Justin Chancellor being one of my favorite Bass Players.
*****OK dude… I looked up your Ocean link…and now…well, I have heard one song..but that means that my new favortie song from the Ocean is also my least favorite. XP
Also…I really hated the vocals. Just didn’t really fit the music IMO. If they needed a growler, i think they shoudl have used one liek Gossow or the like… some one with a more intelligable growl. Musically, it kicked butt.

  7. Gojira and Meshuggah haven’t got one single song I dislike, I only hate the end of Meshuggah’s song Elastic (from album Chaosphere): it’s annoying noise lasting over 10 minutes!
Perhaps my least favorite song from Gojira is A Sight To Behold (from TWOAF).
Opeth used to be a great band, every album with its own atmosphere, until Lopez left. Their last album Watershed is the sound of commercial farts in my face. The members of Opeth have the qualities to make great music, why don’t they?
I think Tool is amazing, especially 10.000 days, Lateralus and Aenima. I do dig the first albums like Opiate and Undertow, but only for a few songs, not the entire album.
the Ocean, I know them because I had to know them.. They opened for a gig from Meshuggah I was going to. I don’t think they fit the list ‘Gojira, Meshuggah, Opeth, Tool’. Maybe Mastodon or Devin Townsend. I wouldn’t know any Ocean-song by name.
By the way: Meshuggah and Gojira, IMO, are the two most innovative bands of today. Their approach to metal is so different and unique. I like!
quote Devin Townsend: “We all rip off Meshuggah!”
    kind regards Schmörg Schnitzeldog
