ESP and Mental Telepathy?? Are these phenomena true?

I don’t have insomnia. I don’t drink coffee or any drinks with high-caffeine content. But oftentimes, I could not sleep. I’m having a hard time doing so. I don’t feel sleepy either. This continue to happen for several days, sometimes it took me 1 week to get back to my normal sleeping habit. Could it be true that somebody is thinking of me?

  1. Actually, what you described by definition is insomnia. “Insomnia is a symptom of a sleeping disorder characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep despite the opportunity.” You have insomnia. Many people do, you are not alone. Neither is it paranormal.
There can be many causes for insomnia, both physical and psychological. Are you anxious about anything? Have you visited your doctor to check your hormone levels? About the least likely cause you have to worry about is some kind of ESP. As far as can be scientifically determined, ESP/telepathy ability probably doesn’t even exist at all.

    • I’m just trying to find out how many people that this is happening to right now. Last night as I just began to drift into sleep a sound like static or electricity filled my head getting louder until it almost hurt. I opened my eyes and had a hard time lifting myself up. I felt very weak but was normal in about 30 sec. I closed my eyes again and the same thing, only this time I listened for it. It was faint at first and then deafening again. I pushed my self up as hard as I could and still could barely move for another 30 sec or so. I told a couple people then say screw it and slept. I woke up 12 hours later and felt drained. 2. Its surprising that you do not have insomnia, because you show all the symptoms of having insomnia. (that was a bit of humor, you have insomnia as TR pointed out)
I am not sure what you mean by someone is thinking of you, or how this connects to ESP or mental telepathy. It seems you are drawing some very strange conclusions in order to deny your sleeping disorder.
There is nothing shameful about having a sleeping disorder, millions of people suffer from them, including myself and my wife. In most cases, they are very well understood, and treatable. However, you need to be talking to a doctor, not a bunch of random people on YA!

  3. ESP and telepathy are definitely for real, but your insomnia isn’t an indication of someone thinking about you. Some clues that someone is thinking about
    — someone pops into your head out of nowhere, when you weren’t thinking about anything even related to them, and you suddenly find yourself wondering how they are
    — a sudden need to contact somebody you haven’t spoken to in a while to see how they are. Again, it’s someone you haven’t seen or heard from or even thought about in a while, but suddenly you find yourself with a strong need to know how they’re doing.
–Or someone pops into your head and you can’t stop thinking about them. Like obsessive thinking. they’re contstantly on your mind. For me, this one usually comes with the above two I mentioned, it’s almost always sudden, and I occassionally feel an overwhelming need to contact this person, a feeling that won’t go away until I actually do it. Every do something like that and then wonder afterwards why you did it, maybe even kick yourself for it?? That’s why.
insomnia…. could be too much caffeine, or caffeine too close to bedtime (caffeine stays in your system for a good 5 hours), or even sugary stuff close to bedtime. Excessive worrying…there’s an entire list of things that could cause insomnia.

  4. There’s no evidence whatsoever for the existence of either ESP or Mental Telepaty, unfortunately, because they’d both be rather fun (and could make people with such abilities instantly rich and famous).

  5. I dont think the answer to your problem has anything to do with ESP or mental telepathy. I do believe that these things do exist, but unless you have experienced it first hand, there is no evidence showing that it does. So it really depends on what you believe. I have the same problem with sleeping and its no big deal. I dont attach it to anything other than my clock ticking wrong. Your fine and if you experienced ESP or mental telepathy, you would know it happened and wouldnt have to speculate.

  6. I’ve heard the idea that if you can’t get to sleep, it means someone is thinking about you. Some older relatives were talking about it years ago. I thought it was just an old saying, “like finding a heads-up penny is good luck”. It is far more likely that your metabolism gets speeded-up somehow. Physical activity can do it, but for sleepless nights it’s more often brain strain or emotional challenges. I do not dismiss the possibility of some sort of psychic phenomena, but I don’t think that’s the most likely explanation.

  7. What you’re postulating is a “psychic attack” or other, more positive contact.

However, one’s “psychic state” can simply indicate your mind is busily involved with thoughts and feelings, and letting go of same to peacefully sleep is less interesting.
“Insomnia” is a broad term, so http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=17762 might be worthwhile reading.

  8. I do know for fact someone is thinking about me when I cant sleep, The reason I know this is bc previously, I had Nights I cant go to sleep even if I wanted to and My ex, which we were in no contact at all was in my mind the whole time, and He called me. I was just told by a psychic that I have a gift. Not just bc of this event, but I have dreamed or had the feeling of things that then happen.
