Does the Bible hint at consciousness?

In the King James version Matt 6 : 22 says,
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefor thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
I think this means our third eye or pineal gland located in the geometric center of the brain.
Are there any other passages in scripture that might relate to light through consciousness?
Or maybe any that might describe the Holy Spirit in a way that it could be what new agers consider consciousness? Just tryin to find ways to combat new age religion as I keep hearing more and more about it.

  1. Ahh yeah…Genesis 1, verse 3 or 4? First thing God ever says. Actually, you will find that light is the overwhelming symbolic representation of God in the Bible. That and also being “good”. I think Good and God are somewhat interchangeable.
Anyway, Light is goodness, light is all knowing, and light is everlasting. Light also has an interesting property that it does not travel through time. Therefore from it’s “relative” perspective, it can exist at any and all points in the universe at the exact same time. It is omnipresent. Hence in the Kingdom of God a day is as 1000 years and 1000 years is as a day.
