  2. What Does the Bible Teach?
The Bible teaches that after death there is no invisible part that survives to be reborn as someone else. The soul is the person himself. For example, you can read in the Bible that after the first man was created, he was called a ?soul.? Thus, when he died, that ?soul? came to an end, as God had said: ?In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.? Elsewhere, the Bible repeatedly shows that the human ?soul? dies.?Genesis 2:7; 3:19; Joshua 10:32; Ezekiel 18:4; James 5:20; Revelation 16:3.
If nothing survives the body after death, what explanation is there for phenomena associated with the belief in reincarnation? The Bible shows that demons, angels who turned unfaithful, are responsible for this. (1 Timothy 4:1) As for the hope of life after death, you can firmly believe in the Creator?s ability to bring back ?those who have been counted worthy of . . . the resurrection from the dead.? As Jesus assured: ?The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.??Luke 20:35; John 5:28, 29.
This information from God?s Word has brought comfort and relief to millions, including the once troubled man from Edmonton, Canada. Another, a former Hindu from India, expressed it like this: ?According to reincarnation, one returns in this system, under these conditions where people grow sick and die. But the resurrection will take place after Jehovah God, by means of his Kingdom government, will bring an end to this corrupt system. Then, . . . sickness, mourning and even death will be things of the past!??Revelation 21:3, 4.
    Resurrection, Not Reincarnation
Although the Bible does not support the reincarnation doctrine, nobody needs to feel disappointed. The Bible?s message offers something far more comforting than the idea of being reborn in a world filled with sickness, sorrow, pain, and death. And not only is what the Bible offers comforting but it is the truth, God?s own Word.
Paul expressed the encouraging doctrine in this way: ?I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.? The word ?resurrection,? or some form of it, occurs over 50 times in the Christian Greek Scriptures, and Paul speaks of it as a primary doctrine of the Christian faith.?Acts 24:15; Hebrews 6:1, 2.
Resurrection from the dead means, obviously, that death exists. Nowhere in the Bible will you find any hint that man has an immortal soul. If man had an immortal soul that separated from the body at death and went to an everlasting destiny in heaven or in hell or was reincarnated, then there would be no need for a resurrection. On the other hand, some one hundred Bible texts show that the human soul is, not immortal, but mortal and destructible. The Bible consistently speaks of death as being the opposite of life, that is, nonexistence as contrasted with existence.
Death, or nonexistence, was the punishment for Adam and Eve?s sin against God. It was a punishment, not an entryway to an immortal life somewhere else. God clearly declared that they would go back to where they came from?the dust of the ground: ?Out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.? (Genesis 3:19) They had no immortal soul before they were created by God and put on earth, in the garden of Eden, and they had none after they died.
Resurrection from death is likened to awakening from sleep, or rest. For example, Jesus said of Lazarus whom he was going to resurrect: ?Lazarus . . . has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.? (John 11:11) Concerning the prophet Daniel, we read: ?You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days.??Daniel 12:13.

  3. I don’t believe in reincarnation, but even if reincarnation exists why would it matter? You don’t have any memories of your previous life, do you? No, and so it stands to assume you wouldn’t in your next life either. So even if some “soul” transfered bodies in what sense is that you? Even if reincarnation existed it wouldn’t matter anymore since you wouldn’t be able to tell that you were being reincarnated.

  4. I’ve always kept an open mind about this question of reincarnation. On the one hand a lot can point in that direction but I’ve often had the feeling that what some think of as a previous life just might be the “aura” of a guide, or angel, that’s near them and is being tuned into. I’ve never quite settled the matter, not yet after so many years.
Anyways, you might be interested in this website and read about other people’s experiences in dreams:

  5. I think we’re born again and again until one not only realizes, but experiences their infinite godly selves, and understands that life is a big dream, and we’re like caterpillars waiting to become butterflies and don’t really know it. If one waits until death I think ones consciousness is probably too frightened to go through the door and they get to do it all over again. The key to this world is to experience it to the fullest and gain knowledge of your other worldly self which is also where the dream world exists. This world is either hell or a level of hell, which is also what all of the ancient religious myths and the ancient mysteries tell us. At our highest level of existence we’re a star or the sun in another dimension having a human experience, or possibly the entire universe is merely a reflection of ourselves. The ancient people were well aware of their multidimensional astral selves, which is not believable, at least it wasn’t to me anyways, until you experience it for yourself.
I am the world that hides
The universal secret of all time
    Destruction of the empty spaces
Is my one and only crime
    I’ve lived a thousand times
I found out what it means to be believed
    The thoughts and images
The unborn child that never was conceived
    When little worlds collide
I’m trapped inside my embryonic cell
    And flashing memories
Are cast into the never-ending well
The name that scorns the face
The child that never sees the cause of man
    The deathly darkness that
Belies the fate of those who never ran
Well I know its hard for you
    To know the reason why
    And I know you’ll understand
More when it’s time to die
Don’t believe the life you have
    Will be the only one
You have to let your body sleep
To let your soul live on
Black Sabbath – A National Acrobat
Note… I’m not religious at all, I study the ancient mysteries, I consider myself a spiritual being having a human experience.

  6. The ancients had a saying,” Life after Life”. Reincarnation was a fact of life; the church made war against this knowledge. We are divine beings in every sense of the word. Don’t be misled, the mindis flawless, use your ordinary mind.

  7. Who knows?
Lets say I reincarnated from a staph virus, or hey – another person so I could retain memories in an actual brain. I don’t remember my past life. I die. I don’t remember this life. I’m not a better person because of it. Dang.
As for your dream, that sounds awesome!

  8. Your dreams are not crap (dreams are usually good for our brains and happen because of many events and for a few reasons, but while some can be visions, most are not), but the idea of the existence of reincarnation is crap.

  9. It is a belief, just like religion. (so you can have either accept religion and everything it has or you will not accept it for it’s lack of evidence)
