Does anyone know where it says to run from witchcraft in the Bible?

I’m almost positive that I read somewhere that the Bible says not only to not practice witchcraft, but actually to run away from it! I could be completely wrong and thinking of another verse, but anyone got any ideas as to where it might be?

  1. Moses had a straight forward command from God about mediums, spiritists, sorcerers. “Pay no attention to…”
I read it the other day.

  2. Hey,I tried to find where it says that,I couldn’t find those exact words….but if you google ‘BibleGateway.com’ go to keyword search, put in sorcery & you’ll see all the scriptures that tell you about it &how it angers God.There is 1 however about Balaam in
    Numbers 24:1
Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not resort to sorcery as at other times, but turned his face toward the desert.
So he turned his face toward the desert, after not practicing sorcery….is that a sign of turning from witchcraft?
    Hope I helped.
    Wait..
I found this in the New Testiment
    Galations 5 16-26
16So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Wow how revealing this is to me right now in my own life.

  3. Rev 21:8 But as for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and fornicators and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur. This means the second death.”
Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, 20Â idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, 21Â envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom.
(Leviticus 19:31) “‘Do not turn yourselves to the spirit mediums, and do not consult professional foretellers of events, so as to become unclean by them. I am Jehovah YOUR God.
(Leviticus 20:6) “‘As for the soul who turns himself to the spirit mediums and the professional foretellers of events so as to have immoral intercourse with them, I shall certainly set my face against that soul and cut him off from among his people.
(Leviticus 20:27) “‘And as for a man or woman in whom there proves to be a mediumistic spirit or spirit of prediction, they should be put to death without fail. They should pelt them to death with stones. Their own blood is upon them.’”
(Deuteronomy 18:9-12) “When you are entered into the land that Jehovah your God is giving you, you must not learn to do according to the detestable things of those nations. 10Â There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11Â or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12Â For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you.
(Isaiah 8:19) And in case they should say to YOU people: “Apply to the spiritistic mediums or to those having a spirit of prediction who are chirping and making utterances in low tones,” is it not to its God that any people should apply? [Should there be application] to dead persons in behalf of living persons?
