Does any one have migraines with auras?

I get the wierdest migraines… it starts out as a whitish half circle that is in my vision, like a really bad blind spot.. as soon as this goes away (usually within a half an hour) i get a pounding dense headache. Sometimes it is accompanied by a really weird smell, that really isnt there. I have had these for about for about 8 years. I have been told they are called migraines with auras, and i have heard it called something else but i forgot the name. If any one else has these please let me know about it! If anyone can tell me what exactly is going on, please help?! I have tried to research it on the internet but i dont really get anywhere. HELP!

  1. I’ve had the same thing. I’d never had one in my life until about 5 years ago then I had 5 in about a week. It then went for a few months and I got a couple more. Then nothing for about 3 years and about 6 months ago, I had about another 4 in a week. I’ve been to doctors and optometrists and neither have been any help. The only thing I found helped a little was as soon as I got the auro to knock down a couple of anti-imflammatory pain killers before the pain came. It didn’t help much though. I also used one of those gel cold packs over my eyes

  2. Hi Lola Sugar
If you want to unblock the energy in your aura then go to a pranic or reiki healer. They can unblock the channels of energy for you. That is very real and it would open all your channels and start the healing process.
But migraines are mainly a bowel issue. WHen you dont have 3 regular bowel movements a day the toxins move up into the blood and that is what causes illness and disease. You must remove the toxins from the blood and also do a liver cleanse cause that’a the organ that filters in out clean blood in the body.
Be sure to do a colon cleanse every quarter and drink a gallon of water a day (I do just for general health). Meditation is also wonderful.
    Best of health to you

  3. Well, I poop and still have migraines. I haven’t had one in about a year (thank God!) but they start out with my vision getting blurry and little white dots appear. I feel disoriented, puke, and hide where it’s dark and quiet. The only way they go away is for me to get to sleep somehow. You may want to talk to your doc about Imitrex. I heard it helps, but Excedrin Migraine can hold you over until you do.

  4. Migraines are often genetic. So if your mother or father has a history of Migraines then you most likely will have them. Migraines run on both sides of my family. Many things can trigger them. Lack of sleep, lack of food, hormones, stress, etc. It helps to stay in a dark, quiet room until it subsides. Excedrin helps, but sometimes you need something stronger. Some people grow out of them and some do not. I had migraines as a youth and into adulthood. When I had my first child they stopped. Each of my four children have had them. If I were you I would ask your doctor to prescribe something to help you through those days. Good luck.

  5. It sounds like you have seizures. I had epilpesy and epilpesy can trigger weird smells and give certain people migraines depending on what type of seizures they are having. You should go see a neuroligist and he can run a test of your brain and give you more information as what’s going on. Aura’s are a type of a mild seizure but if you let it go untreated sometimes they get worse as time goes by. I started out with petit mal and as I got older I ended up with complex partal seizures and now I just get aura’s. But as I said don’t put this off as if you do they will blame you for not taking care of the problem. Ask your family doctor if he can recommend a good neuroligist for you if not the hospitals alway’s have very good neurolists.
