it’s totally unscriptural

Anything Christians fear is labeled sin.

Rather than asking if it is “sin”, one should ask, “does this bring me closer to God, or farther away?” Astrology and any other pseudo science, I believe, leads a person away from understanding and knowing the “real” God. Thanks for asking.

No, it is not a sin. And no, it is not the same idea as witchcraft.
People who say that have no idea what they’re talking about, and most likely have never even looked into astrology nor witchcraft, so.

The Christian crowd is about the only group to say that. I am a witch, have been involved in Wicca for some time. We study witchcraft and all kinds of divination including astrology. Don’t worry about what others say, the only way to learn about anything is to study it.
PS – lol moment, didn’t the Maji follow a star to find the baby Jesus, think about it.

no way, stars are creation.

Isaiah 47:13 (NIV)
All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you.
Daniel 1:20 NKJV
And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.
Daniel 1:19-21 (in Context) Daniel 1 (Whole Chapter)
Daniel 2:2
Then the king gave the command to call the magicians, the astrologers, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
Daniel 2:1-3 (in Context) Daniel 2 (Whole Chapter)
Daniel 2:27
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king.
Daniel 2:26-28 (in Context) Daniel 2 (Whole Chapter)
Daniel 4:7
Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they did not make known to me its interpretation.
Daniel 4:6-8 (in Context) Daniel 4 (Whole Chapter)
Daniel 5:7
The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. The king spoke, saying to the wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing, and tells me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck; and he shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”
Daniel 5:6-8 (in Context) Daniel 5 (Whole Chapter)
Daniel 5:11
There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father–your father the king–made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.
Daniel 5:10-12 (in Context) Daniel 5 (Whole Chapter)
Daniel 5:15
Now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not give the interpretation of the thing.
Daniel 5:14-16 (in Context) Daniel 5 (Whole Chapter)

It is turning to the stars for answers instead of turing to God. It is worshiping the creation instead of the creator.

I don’t see it as a sin, it is just a waste of time.

Considering how much of the bible is based on Astrology I’d perhaps leave that question behind.

yes it is, because if you believe that your fate depends on astrology then you distrust God’s will on you. It’s the same as neglecting god’s presence in your life.
