The increasingly increasing free exchange of ideas and info will spell the demise of religion.
(Male caucasian. Yeah portrayed either way, media is not necessarily to blame, media is used by religion, but that doesn’t always help it, has not become incorporated into media, already incorporated into laws and social stuff though, no I don’t associate with that, my origin is christian, but realized long ago it’s a bunch of crap. Hey what the hell? Oh okay you’re welcome.)

Religion is declining because they cannot produce a god or a devil to reinforce their rantings .

-I think it encourages people to get to know other religions, but this can be done for negative and positive reasons. For instance, many people hadn’t heard of Scientology before Tom Cruise announced he was a Scientology. Not long after that people started to make fun of the religion on a mass scale.
6. How do you feel about media taking away the aura of Religion?
a. Yes, I agree that mass media is ruining religion
-I’m choosing “a,” but there’s more to my opinion. I think the media is encouraging people to live according to pop culture, not religious culture. For instance, the media is encouraging people to be sexy and be pleasured by sexual things, but Christianity teaches that we should be modest and conservative and reserve sex for marriage only. Sex is extremely appealing, so when everyone else is being sexy it’s easy to want to join the crowd. It doesn’t look as wrong when everyone is doing it. But then, when Christians hang out with Christians most of the time they’re used to seeing modestly dressed moral people. The shock value of immoral sex still works on people who obey the rules of Christianity.
7. Do you think that media influences religion to become commercialized?
b. No
– I believe that any religion that is strong will not change for the rest of the world. We’re supposed to change ourselves for religion, because religion is supposed to be the stable force. I think that some churches have chosen to use the media to advertise and take secular ideas to get their message out, but this doesn’t make the churches commercialized.
8. Do you think religion is losing its effect because it has become incorporated into the media? I.e. Sunday morning church services on television, massive stadiums used for church services in the U.S.A
– I think all of the answer choices are wrong. First of all, I disagree that religion is losing it’s effect. I think that the secular media just yells loudly while churches speak in quiet humble voices (well, not all churches, but most.) Remember that Cathedrals built all throughout history are huge and dominating. Large places of worship are not a modern invention.
9. What Religion do you associate with? (Pick which most applies to you)
a. Biblical Origin (I.e. Christianity, Catholic, Islam, Protestantism, Orthodox, etc)
– I’m Christian, a Roman Catholic

The Origins of Satanism
http://www.freewebs.com/eridu666/Origins…
Satanism is not a Christian invention
Satanism predates Christianity and all other religions
Satanism is not about spooks, goblins, vampires, Halloween monsters or other related entities
Satanism is not about “evil”
Satanism is not an invention of, or a “reaction” to Christianity
Satanism is not a creation of Anton LaVey
Satanism is not about death
True Satanism is about elevating and empowering humanity to reach equality with the Gods, which was our True Creator (Satan’s) intention
“IN THE SECRET OF MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS NO GOD BUT ME”
-SATAN
From “Peace Be Unto Him”
Due to centuries of misinformation, lies, and the systematic removal of knowledge, few people these days understand or even know what “Satanism” really is all about.
Christianity has been at liberty to dictate without any opposition, what they CLAIM Satanism to be. In order to accomplish this, the truth had to be destroyed. The Catholic Church (the original Christian Church, from which all Christian sects have evolved), heinously tortured to death and mass-murdered millions of innocent men, women and children in what was known as “The Inquisition.” Some children who were burnt to death in what were known as “witch houses” were as young as two years of age.¹
Christians forever rant and rave concerning the “one world order” where all identities, cultures, personal privacies, and liberties will be lost and humanity, after being systematically bar-coded, will be lumped into a one-world slave state. What they fail to see is how their own so-called “religion” and bible have always been and are the roots of and blueprint for this regime. Everything in the Judeo/Christian Bible has been stolen and corrupted from religions predating Judaism, Christianity, and Islam from hundreds to thousands of years. Through Judaism and its tool of Christianity, all of the original spiritual teachings from around the world, (which are CONCEPTS) have been stolen from, lumped together into the “one,” and corrupted into Jewish archetypes and characters and fictitious places. This has given the Jewish people as a whole a false history, political power and “spiritual” authority to which they are not entitled.
The bible is a very powerful subliminal tool to control the masses. One can see this is a man-made work as there are endless contradictions. The bible has been systematically drummed into the minds of the populace from a very early age. A lie must always be enforced as opposed to the truth which can stand on its own. Because spiritual knowledge and occult power have been removed and kept in the hands of a “chosen” few, the unknowing populace has been helpless against it. The agenda here is to create a one-world slave state with the “chosen” few ruling at the top. The perpetrators of course blame Satan to create a necessary distraction, while they use occult power to accomplish their ends. They have a history of stealing from and blaming their enemies for everything they really are and do, while always holding themselves in the highest esteem and innocence.
The original religions now known as “Satanism” (by the way, “Satan” means “enemy” in Hebrew), were all based upon what is known as the “Magnum Opus” or Great Work. The one known as “Satan” is our True Creator God. He was prevented by the other Gods from finishing his work on humanity, that of the godhead. The godhead is physical and spiritual perfection. Now, if you continue to read on, I will prove this.
The serpent is seen everywhere in ancient relics and structures. The serpent was held sacred in all areas of the ancient world. Satan is the God Ea, aka ENKI, one of the first of the Nephilim to arrive on this planet and establish the first civilization. In Sumerian mythology, Enki’s symbol was always the serpent

4. Too much influence of Christianity in US still and not enough other religions and atheism represented accurately.
5. Radio/Music probably influences people to explore other beliefs most or at least gets them to music forums or other places on the Internet (like music websites or videos where other “minority” religions may be discussed (or even pushed or spammed) I have seen this in several places. Celebrities switching religion may have a little impact I don’t know cause few people I ever ran across thought that all the hype about celebrities was cool. Though a celebrity switching to something like any of the pagan religions or Satanism/Luciferianism would probably have a huge impact since these seem to be the religions that attract young people these days (and it would give them an excuse to Christian friends and family to explore them if asked about it) at least from what I have seen. Radio programs, music, and documentaries about these “minority” religions have the biggest impact.
6. Its not ruining religion or the aura of religion its promoting a more open dialogue about it thats good especially the Internet and sites like Yahoo answers.
7. Sometimes it just depends on the followers and leader of the Church, Temple, Group etc.
8. Actually mainstream religion is promoted too much by the media I think we need a more open and accurate dialogue on TV/Radio about “minority” religions and non belief. The Internet is fine and much more free and open. Mainstream media is way to controlled.
9. I am a Satanist (Spiritual beliefs http://www.joyofsatan.org is a website about my beliefs)
Edit: Um Don D I am a Satanist also but that doesn’t mean I want to Spam questions totally unrelated about it if I am going to put a website about my religion in my answers I do it so people can look it up if they choose and better understand it (convert only if they feel drawn to it) not just put unrelated stuff in answers promoting it. You did not even attempt to answer his/her question. Also your links don’t even work.

My age, gender, race etc are irrelevant to the overall question.
What you are actually asking is what is turning people away from your biblical iron age religions. It isn’t the media. All they do is show the world not just some narrow viewpoint. The internet simply allows one to learn more which is against the biblical ways.
As a real Wiccan I am in a real religion and the media isn’t affecting this at all.
The biggest sole reason anyone leaves the hate agenda religions is their actions and antiquated viewpoints aimed at hate.

Real Wiccan and proud of it.

I think you’re dangerously overgeneralizing, as well as asking a leading question. Your question presumes that religion IS declining. I disagree. in colonial America, for example, maybe 10% of people went to church. That number has been pretty steadily increasing ever since. And while we have many more people willing to publicly label themselves as atheists, we also have a lot more very devout, even fanatical Christians. Finally, while Christianity is somewhat shrinking in this country overall, that doesn’t mean that religiosity is shrinking. There are many more options open to people today than 100 years ago, thanks to the almost instant flow of information today. I think religion is changing rather than diminishing.
1. What is your gender?
b. Female
2. What is age?
b. 20-40
3. What is your ethnicity?
a. Caucasian
4. How do you feel religion is portrayed on media such as radio, internet, billboards, and TV?
Way too general to answer. How does one usefully compare a billboard ad with a radio news story, for example?
5. Do you feel that media is causing people to ‘switch’ or ‘explore’ more religions? I.e. Celebrities ‘switching’ into scientology, Kabalah, etc.
I think the flow of information has a lot to do with it, of which the media is a part. Again, you’re asking for too specific an answer for avery broad topic.
6. How do you feel about media taking away the aura of Religion?
I don’t know what that means. How does religion have an aura?
7. Do you think that media influences religion to become commercialized?
Again, depends on the media. I do not consider any of your offered options to be truthful statements.
8. Do you think religion is losing its effect because it has become incorporated into the media? I.e. Sunday morning church services on television, massive stadiums used for church services in the U.S.A
b. No, I think to practice a religion you do not need a building to do it in. Religion is personal (My answer really is just “no.” Your additional text here only confuses the issue.)
9. What Religion do you associate with? (Pick which most applies to you)
h. Other (I.e. Matrixism, Satanism, Neopaganism, Neo-druidism, Wiccan, Scientology, Kabbalah, Tantra, Alchemy,
