Do you have any thoughts on what happens to human consciousness after biological death?

  1. Either you got eternal salvation or eternal damnation and i don’t care how many of you damn morons put me a thumbs down, my answer is not going anywhere.

  2. I hear the voice of a spirit that claims to be Godâ„¢.
That means conversation with a spirit that claims to be God Almighty. Maybe He is lying, but that is what He say’s. He and I do not ‘get along’ well.
But, if what He say’s is true…, we will all sleep until He wakes us all up at the same time. Some time in the future.

  3. Consciousness is a biological event that ends with biological death. It may sound bad, but it is our ultimate motivation to get out and do things as it is the only chance we get. Life is finite, do what you can, while you can.

  4. It is a fact that our consciousness is a direct result of our neural activity (this is supported by the fact that our consciousness is soluble in alcohol).
Without the brain, there is no consciousness.

  5. Consciousness is simply a bunch of electricity darting around your nervous system. If you cease to function, your “consciousness” ceases to function.
Wow this was a pretty enlightening question not because of what you asked but how you asked it.

  6. Yep. It ends. Well at least what you identify as your consciousness, is what your brain does. It is the program you computer brain runs. Everything that you think of as you is a product of your brain functioning.
You are meat, just meat, thinking meat.

  7. I accept the ideas suggested by those having NDEs (near death experiences). The overall and majority acceptance of medical professionals (doctors and nurses) suggests the phenomenon is not isolated or unique and because of that, there is a state of consciousness that goes _somewhere_ but where that is, is open to debate since a NDE is just that: a near death experience.

  8. Since it’s an energy form, I believe it travels on. Since “energy” or “matter” for that matter can not be created or destroyed, it can only change form. Our consciousness i hope becomes more enlightened, and we move to “higher ground”, so to speak.
This is, of course as if you were referring to the consciousness of the mind,as in our thoughts or soul.

  9. I don’t know what happens but I don’t think we just blink out of existence, everything is made of energy and nature is a great recycler.

  10. the consciencness of the soul seems to be connected with spirit and mind and brain. so while the brain dies the release ofthe spirit continues on.
(most of hte time) it is written the dead know nothing when they pass away but the words of jesus says a spirit can cry out for salvation even if it ends up in hell, or spirit prison see 1 peter 3:18
when many people have out of body experiences they just get up and walk into the next room
some are attatched with a spiritual cord like the cord at the birth.
some Immediately go to paradise or spirit prison or to realms of hell that seem so divers but terrifying

  11. ………..My thoughts are the essence of life or soul is pure energy…….. always was and always will , be for energy cannot be destroyed……… what happens to that pure energy,,,,,,,, there are billions of places….. just look at the cosmos….. always expanding,,, never ending……… I like to believe that you have just stepped off the earth ride and step on another…… kind of like a disney world but its the whole cosmos we are talking about

  12. Here is a Biblical answer…
The Bible states that the dead are sleeping in the graves until the second coming of Jesus, in which the dead in Christ shall rise, and those who are alive shall be caught up together in the air. When dead, we have a soul, just not a “living soul.”
The Bible states that the dead know not anything. (psalm. 115:17 psalm 6:5, 88:10-12)
“His breath goeth forth, he returneth to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” (Psalm 146:4)
“For the living know that they will die, but the dead know not anything.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, first part)
“The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.” (Psalm 115:17)
“Marvel not at this for the hour is coming in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” (John 5:28,29)
“But I would not have you be ignorant, brethren concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” (1thessalonians 4:13)
“Let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day….. For David is NOT YET ascended into the Heavens.” (Acts 2:29, 34 first part, emphasis added.
Death and sleep are used interchangeably; read John 11:11-14.
The Bible also states that death is a sleep.. I.e. Lazarus, and the little girl.. If we have the seed of Jesus inside of us then we sleep in the grave until he comes to take us home.. He is so wonderful.. He knew that we would not like heaven if we had to go right when we died.. How aweful it would be to see our loved ones suffering on earth while we were in paradise.. When Jesus comes back the trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first. (1thessalonians 4:6).. Then mother and daughter father and son.. Brother and sister will all be caught up in the air together and spend eternity with no more pain or sorrow.. For God says..”For they shall hunger no more nor shall they thirst… And God shall wipe away ALL tears from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:16,17)
Amen.. I thank God for the rest that he has promised to give us, that we might find joy when we die.
Look up in Strong’s concordance the words SLEEP, ASLEEP, DEATH, DEAD
