Do you ever try to create a "religious experience" for yourself, through prayer or meditation?

I mean, I do think that most people will agree that spending some quiet time and practicing some form of meditation does make you feel empowered and better. Perhaps the people of ancient times understood this as well. My point is do you practice something of this form, or do you choose to do without and do just as well without it?

  1. I always feel better after prayer. At peace. But not through repetitious words or mantras. There is a feeling of satisfaction from communicating with the Almighty God and knowing that He has heard you and you have pleased Him.

  2. you cannot create a religious experience by yourself..It has to happen..for this prayers..spiritual practices and other rituals may help.A real spiritual master’s presence can help you to experience something.A chemical reaction happens in you and a GURU acts as a catalyst..the product is your experience and the catalyst remains the same with out getting unaffected..

  3. I started playing guitar again after about a 7 year break. Feels pretty good. Got a new guitar too.
    From Psalms 150:4
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments…
    Yeah, I love to groove!

  4. It needs to be a conscious choice. One needs to choose to meditate, or engage in “right prayer.”
The reason is this: meditation takes energy away from the mind, and directs it to awareness, consciousness. Awareness is beyond the mind, and is connected to the divine, the source, or what ever you want to call it.
Mind does not like to be deprived of energy. So it will come up with all kinds of reasons why you should not bother to meditate.
Do not be deceived!!! Choose to meditate every day (best is in the morning when you wake up, or at sunset) and do it no matter what the mind tells you!
