Disproving the Christian God?

I have true faith in the pantheist god. It sustains our existence. It surrounds us. You could feel its presence if you were still and paid attention. Since coming to these realizations, I’ve become a better person. I now understand the beauty of the universe. I now know that god is a cosmic energy without consciousness completely unlike the biblical God.
So question… Why are your feelings, as Christians, more reliable than mine? Why is your faith more likely to be true than mine?
In other words, what can you say about your faith that I can’t say (or say something similar) about mine?
Tuberroot– my god warned me about people like you too. i know you are scared. You don’t realize you don’t have to me. You don’t need that security book. the answers are here with us.
Blessed — my god is not only living, it is life. my god not only created the universe, it is the universe.
pappyg — if you knew the real god, you would know that feelings are all we have. the “facts” you list are just feelings that you think correspond with reality. there is only one thing we can know, and that is that the pantheist god exists all around us. besides that, it’s all beliefs.
To those saying I have been deceived by Satan — it is you who has been deceived, by your own fears. you fear the unknown so you find comfort in customs. you fear knowing reality because it will force you to actually change your mind.
mrglass– your God has told you that you are unworthy to be in his presence. as you say, only by “grace”… but the real god is everywhere, inside of us. it is not above us, we are a part of it. this is far from nothing.
darks– maybe they are, but then one of us is wrong about many things.
matters– many books have predicted the future. the real god is the past and present and future. you say your God teaches love, the real god is love itself.

  1. Hah, now if you would just stop warping language to make yourself sound deep you would be able to face the fact you’re an atheist and sally forth into honest conversation about this sort of thing.

  2. Christians often use the argument that since you can’t prove that God doesn’t exist, he must exist. It never made any sense to me but you should remember that Christianity is not about asking questions, it is about blind faith.

  3. Christian theism has yet to build a case with enough evidence to warrant an attempt at disproving it. In the my mind, the judge dismisses it as nonsense and throws it out of court.

  4. Well, I suppose you could call me a Biblical panentheist for Christ and partial preterist.
Am I “more right” than you? In my mind, yes. Otherwise I would be believing what you believe. =P
Does your God sustain everyone equally?
Does your God have a sense of right and wrong?
Do you have a soul, and if so, what role does your God play in determining what happens to it?
Can you interact with your God?

  5. I wish you well… I can give you Bible scripture but what good would that do? Many of my Christian brothers and sisters don’t realize that . Keep an open mind… when you think you have found the answer… just keep searching I do.

  6. my opinion is…
you are sitting on the fence.
there is only one true, Living God…no might be’s..no maybe’s..
    no possiblys..
not the metaphysical superstar the media-peer driven drivel we’re deluged with…daily.

  7. My God, much like your God, is everywhere, and you can feel His presence if you pay attention. But He has a conciousness, and what you’re feeling about becoming a better person, is the placebo effect. It happens to Christians too. You will yourself to be a better person, because you think you’ve come to a realization. Things i can say about my faith? I can say that the bible is a history book, that both predicted history, and recorded it, and it’s not just the Bible that says this, there are many outside references that say the same thing. But i can also say that i have a God that listens and responds, and loves me, and teaches me how to love.

  8. To me, it only shows that God doesn’t want everyone, just like He said.
    John 17
8 “For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.”
If you are satisfied without Him, then He didn’t want you either. He has a way of getting the attention of those who He draws to Christ. And without Christ, you are not one of His children.

  9. I am not to judge your feelings in relation to your god.
I know how i feel and that has absolutely nothing to do with how you feel.
I am a witness and living proof that God exists. I am grateful to haven been chosen to live beyond Faith of Gods existence.
I am not sure what you can say about your faith but i am a witness of Gods existence. I no longer need faith to believe God exists.
    I know God exists.

  10. It is not about “feelings” it is about what God thinks. If you REALLY had “true faith” in the “pantheist” God (as you call Him), then your faith wasn’t too strong in the first place was it ? Hence, the question you asked ! ARE you really a “better person” or have you done a better job at kidding yourself ? You have “proved” zero !

  11. My God is a living God who not only created the earth and everything in it, He conquered death and saved me from eternal damnation because I believe He suffered, died and rose again and I asked Him into my heart.
By faith, I am a saved person. You are just a better person in your mind.

  12. Why are my feelings more reliable? Reliable for who?
Why is my faith more likely to be true? Probably because I’ve experienced God personally and have no idea what you’re talking about.
What you’re describing sounds kind of “new age” to me.
    God bless you.

  13. God does not disapprove of you. There are Christians that supposedly have the answer to your salvation. They have canned scripture verses.
The journey of your faith is unique to you. The decisions you make in your life define you who you are. They are the foot stones of your existence.

  14. My faith is not based on feelings it is based on facts Feelings can lie.
1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1Jn 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
1Jn 3:19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
1Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1Jn 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
1Jn 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
1Jn 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
1Jn 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
There is much more if you want to know.

  15. Ever wonder why society in general and some people in particular are so bent on disproving the ‘Christian’ God and not all the rest of the so-called gods???
The ‘god’ speaking to you is called satan, the master deceiver!

  16. My friend, your open mind and willingness to accept anything as truth has opened the door for the devil to capture and take control of your mind…. so… chalk up another decieved soul for Satan!
I guess you are not aware that Satan can transform himself into an “angel of light” [2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV]… thus offering a lie that sounds and appears as truth to any mind who has no idea what the real truth is.
The God of my faith gave fair warning of this happening… what has your god done that compares?

  17. Now let me ask you something. Is it possible that the God we feel and the one you feel is the same God? We might read the feeling differently, but could it actually be the same God.
It might be easier to explain what I am asking by using a different example:
A parent sometimes has problems with some of thier childs friends, however the child likes thier friends. So why is this? Or A girl or guy you like I might actually not like (I would say hate, but I am uncapible of hating anyone). Now why would this be?
The answer is simple. As far as I’ve been around I have never seen 2 people see the same person in the same light. They all think of them differently. Yes, people have more then 1 friend. But go around and ask all of your friends to decribe you to the best of thier ability and every single one of them will have a different impression of you, some might be simular, but none will be the same.
This is what I am asking you; is it possible that your God and my God is the same God?
Actually after reading some of your responces I am even more curious. See the truth about me is that the only reason I am Christian is that I believe in Jesus Christ. However I’m not you typical Christian. I too believe that God is everywhere and everything. I actually believe God created multiple religions in order for everybody to get his/her message. In other words there are not that many religions in which I don’t believe part of.
So not only am I asking you if they could be the same, but I’d also apprieciate an e-mail describing your religion. The reason I am asking this is the closest religion I have found to my own beliefs in the universalist religion.

  18. What you have done is reduced yourself to nothing and so thrown away the intrinsic part of being human. The pantheistic God does not allow personality or individuality because everything is God, therefore nothing is personal. This is the opposite of what we see and experience in that all people are personal. The Christian God is a personal God and so accounts for personality and the position of man in the world.
Edit: You are correct that we are unworthy to be in God’s presence. Man has sinned and a perfect God can not tolerate the imperfection of sin to be in his presence. However, my God sacrificed himself for man to come back to him. That is more than anything imaginable, a perfect, complete and holy God loved his creation so much that he sacrificed himself to bring man back to him.
