Dalai Lama. Please Help!?

I have this school project where I need to do a presentation on someone who has changed the world. I picked the Dalai Lama (Buddist) because out of any religion I believe in Buddism most, I think. Anyway, could anyone give me any clues on him and how he has actually changed the world. Don’t worry if it’s no much. I just need help.
You guys are life savers! xxx

  1. There was an excellent biography of the Dalai Lama that I read several years ago. Go to your library, and check it out! You should find it quite enlightening.

  2. Have a look at his official website inparticular his biography. This will give you his life from birth to current day……. as a buddhist leader and clergyman as well as one of the most prolific global humanitarians of our lifetime and his tireless and peaceful fight for justice for his people, the tibetans.
I hope this is a good starting point for you.

  3. you truly have picked a great person upon which to do your presentation!
Tibet was an ancient unique country and was independent and free for several thousand yrs. Tibet had it’s own borders, leeadership, language, food, dance, currency, postal system, etc. Dalai Lama is the leader of the Tibetan people and was the leader of Tibet until the brutal and savage Chinese occupation.
Panchen Lama mentioned in link below is a different person
Tibet was invaded while Mao was leader in China. Hundreds of thousands of peaceful harmless Tibetans were murdered. Thousands of monasteries were blown up. They tried to kill Dalai Lama but he escaped overland into India.
Dalai Lama has won the nobel peace prize, has won americas highest honor, was voted by time magazine as the most influential person in the world. All of Dalai Lamas tapes and books are on love, compassion, peace, meditation, etc.
He is the 14th Dalai Lama of the country of Tibet. Beore the Dalai Lamas Tibet had kings.
I was in Lhasa, Tibet in 1989. It was under Chinese martial law. Soldiers on every street corner with automatic weapons. Tibetans living in fear. All things Tibetan confiscated at Nepal border. Little boy Panchen Lama kidnapped by CCP.
I have met the current Dalai Lama and consider it one of the highest honors (perhaps # 1) of my life
