A Way of Life: The Tibetan Book of the Dead

Imagine that as you leave your body at death, you hear the voice of a loved one whispering in your ear explanations of everything you see in the world beyond. The Tibetan Book of the Dead is one of many mortuary texts of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is commonly recited to or by a person facing imminent death. Over as many as 12 days, the deceased person is given explanations of what he or she sees and experiences and is guided through innumerable visions of the realms beyond to reach eventual liberation, or, failing that, a safe rebirth. Like a backpacker's guide to a foreign land. Includes interviews an ancient Buddhist monk and an investigation of a young boy who might be the reincarnation of a great spiritual figure. A chakra is an alignment point of the body and it can receive and relay the life force energy. The word Chakra comes from the Sanskrit, it describes the continual spinning of a wheel or the aural energy sphere within the body of mankind.

Traditional Hindu writings have often said that there are nearly 90,000 points of Chakra throughout every human body, but there are truly only seven extremely important points of Chakra. These seven vital points of Chakra can be found from the bottom of the spinal cord all the way up to the top of the head.

The root or base chakra, the sex or navel chakra, the stomach or solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the brow or third eye chakra and the crown chakra are the seven major chakras of the body.

These main chakra points of the body can receive and transmit energy to and from its universal surroundings including various elements and the individuals around it. They are able to influence the spiritual, mystical, emotional, intellectual, corporeal, and psychological activities of an individual all by themselves.

Throughout history, Chakras have been described in several different ways, but most of these ways have one common characteristic.

The Chinese medicinal description and even the Hindu interpretation have things in common. Chakra is the understanding of the way that the human mind thinks and the ways in which humans express and experience emotions in everyday life.

The chakras are in perpetual motion whether we are awake or asleep. The continual activity does influence the glandular processes, physical disorders, structure, and appearance as well as our actions and deeds.

When one or more of the chakras malfunction for different reasons this will cause an imbalance, it then continues to make it known in other areas.

Many believe that this all happens because the chakras are part of the endocrine gland that is located inside your body. If you do not keep your chakras in balance then you will get what is known as a disturbance in this glad which will affect everything that is attached to it.

You can pretty much bet on that whatever ailments or conditions that you have, are related to the balance of the chakras in your body. It is very important for you to try to keep all of the chakras in balance. Some people do not see any physical; symptoms but they can see a change in their emotions.

Generally speaking, the repressed or elapsed emotional balance that comes from experiences of past trauma is one of the main causes of imbalance of the chakras. The cellular level of the body is influenced by the emotional toxins that are habitually buried inside the subconscious of anyone.

This is the reason that we should deal with our emotional baggage as this will aid us in maintaining a good balance of the chakras which in turn influences the healing process of our physical being.

Thus, the human body deserves chakra healing therapies. It can use various techniques such as color therapy, aromatherapy, Reiki healing, etc and can use objects such as crystals, gemstones or a pendulum for opening up or balancing the chakras

The performances of yoga breathing and physical exercises are beneficial to maintaining chakra balance within the body and it is something that many individuals enjoy participating in.

Other methods include healing through the utilization of meditation classes, for a specific period of time, through visualization with the aid of CD or audiotapes for encouraging relaxation techniques and reducing stress in the natural healing process.

Although we cannot see or feel our chakras, they work alone to help sustain our bodies in several ways.

The body needs nutrition in order for there to be a balance of the chakras and the pleasure of good health. There are particular foods that aid in maintaining the balance of each of the seven chakras.

If you want to care for your root chakra then stick with Roots-type vegetables. You can also go with protein-rich foods to help your chakra get the most nutrition. Your solar plexus chakra thrives on starches such as cereal, bread, and even pasta.

You can also do dairy products and yogurts for this type of Chakra. You will want to feed and your sexual chakra sweet fruits, vanilla, and some cinnamon or nuts.

For nourishing the heart chakra, the center powerhouse of our being, green tea, and green leafy vegetables are the best. Intake of a lot of water, fruit juices, and tangy fruits such as peaches and apples nourishes the throat chakra.

The third eye chakra which is responsible for the sharpness of third eyesight and a profound sense of the psychical gifts we all have is nourished by consuming such items as grapes, blueberries, grape juice, and wine.

The center of our emotional being is called the crown chakra which needs to be detoxified. This is generally done through fasting. Some people prefer to do a ritual inhalation which can be done through the use of natural herbs as well as incense.

We can influence our health when we influence or stimulate our chakras. Doing so inspires us to be more responsive in our lives as we become completely in tune with our general surrounding as well as all the other elements of the physical and metaphysical environment we live in.
