Can you explain taoism for me?

  1. The Tao that can be explained is not the real tao, however, what we know about the Tao is taoism.

  2. I think it has something to do with being happy or something but hasn’t got anything to do with gods and the like.
Ever heard of the three laughing men by the river? Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism… Might be worthwhile to look it up.

  3. Photographer, you’re retarded. Taoism is polytheistic, meaning, it believes in multiple gods. Stop thinking that Christianity is the only religion that believes in a god.

  4. “The way that can be told is not the eternal way,” the first sentence of of the Tao Te Ching, but I will attempt to explain. It’s a religion, but it’s often just taken as a philosophy. Taoism is based on the teachings of Lao Tzu. It’s very philosophical, and great emphasis is put on so called “binary opposites”; think yin and yang. In fact, the yin and yang symbol is in fact Taoist. I did my best; I hope I helped!
